In his interview on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, Joe Rogan admitted that he hated working on Fear Factor so much that he started getting stoned before every episode he taped after the first season, with the help of candies and soft drinks laced with marijuana.
All foods seen eaten on the show have to be FDA approved.
There is a Fear Factor live show at Universal Studios Orlando.
The segment towards the end of the first part of the Fear Factor Reality Stars episode, Joe Rogan does a home invasion where the family, husband has to do a challenge where he has to dig into lard with his mouth, grab 5 buried pigs feet, hand it off to his wife by mouth to her mouth and she has to spit it out into a clear container for $5000 Capital One Card cash. Not only did the wife not grab a pig foot cleanly by mouth, after it was handed off to her by her husband's mouth; she ended up swapping positions with her husband to grab the three remaining pig's feet to complete the challenge. This would have been a disqualification on the real show. She used her hands to keep a piece in her mouth and she was digging out the pig's feet when her husband was supposed to be the one doing it. Of course, the family ended up winning the credit card for transferring 5 pigs feet into the clear container in under 1 minute as was the challenge.
On a Family Fear Factor episode, Joe Rogan states that he did not have a cell phone until 22 years of age; he could not afford one until he was 22 years of age.
