Good one. It was well presented. All the actresses have done a good job. Script and Screenplay was very good. Movie starts of well and is not boring at any point of time. Director Chandrakant Kulkarni has done well with this one. Keep up the good work.

&quot;Bindhast&quot; or &quot;Audacious&quot; is Marathi language feature, directed by débutant Chandrakant Kulkarni and released in 1999. Plot:- The movie is about two besties studying in a college. They play a prank. The prank goes wrong. The besties are caught in a web. Do they succeed? Or, are they taken out? Does the plot sound familiar? If you watch Bollywood, then it is not really rocket science in deciphering that the plot that is lifted from author Louis Thomas&#39;s 1967 English language novel &#39;Good Children Don&#39;t Kill.&#39;, is already sampled in Bollywood&#39;s 1975 release - &quot;Khel Khel Mein&quot; featuring Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Rakesh Roshan, Iftikhar and directed by Ravi Tandon; &quot;Khiladi&quot; released in 1992, featuring Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Anant Narayan Mahadevan and directed by Abbas- Mustaan; and then, the 1997 release &quot;Gupt - The Hidden Truth&quot; featuring a killer soundtrack (by Viju Shah) alongside Bobby Deol, Manisha Koirala, Kajol and directed by Rajiv Rai. The plot element of &quot;prank&quot; that went wrong in the original was turned here into &quot;a vengeful murder&quot;. &quot;Bindhast&quot; released at a time when Marathi cinema was going through a rough patch, worse than the present situation of the whole of the Pakistan film industry. When this title came out, it was a talk of the town and a runaway hit. It was so hugely hyped that the time-line of its era was divided into two - one who saw &quot;Bindhast&quot; and the other who didn&#39;t. This was probably the first Marathi language movie to get pirated. Cable operators wanted to play the pirated version on their networks since the official video was not out yet. The movie was still playing in theaters. This movie also holds the distinction of being the first Indian movie with an all female cast. There is a male character who is the catalyst in the screenplay, but appears only for a few seconds and has no dialogues. The impact was such that the audience were rooting for the characters in this movie to swipe away all nominations the following awards season. This title probably also picked up the awards for Best Feature and Best Director. What really made this movie a runaway success was the promotional campaign - &quot;Marathipanacha kaksha rundavnara chitrapat&quot;/ &quot;The film in Marathi language that reaches out to new horizons.&quot; This catch- line was hammered on the psyche on the audience. The result was a phenomena only enjoyed by Bollywood of that time. Further, Priyadarshan, the movie director from South India, who directed Bollywood titles like &quot;Gardish&quot; (1993), &quot;Virasat&quot; (1997), &quot;Hera Pheri&quot; (2000), &quot;Bhool Bhulaiyaa&quot; (21007), etc, remade &quot;Bindhast&quot; in Tamil language as &quot;Snegithiye&quot; (2000) and &quot;Bhagam Bhag&quot; (2006) in Bollywood featuring Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Paresh Rawal and Jackie Shroff. All in all, &quot;Bindhast&quot; is a taut thriller with a repeat value.

This is one of the best thriller and suspense Marathi movie. Audience gets engrossed with the story plot right from the beginning. Also small comdey scenes add littile flavour in the overall storyline. It&#39;s a must watch for thriller loving audience.
