The series was produced for the American channel CBS, but the animation was produced in Australia by the animation studio Southern Star/Hanna-Barbera Australia, the Sydney-based subsidiary of Hanna-Barbera.
For the 1990s reruns, the segments featuring the original host Bob Keeshan were replaced by new segments featuring Malcolm-Jamal Warner as the host.
