Hello!
On July 4th, 1988, (I believe), when I was little, I stayed inside the house with an ear ache, while my sister caught fireflies, taping "The 4th of July Spectacular" at Disney World, hosted by Regis and Kathie Lee. I absolutely loved it! I'd watch it all the time for years after. I've memorized the "Dick Tracy" song and dance number, and my sister and I all chose our favorite sequinsed dresses the dancers wore at the beginning of the show when they danced to "Vogue" and "Pretty Woman".
The one sad thing is, IT WAS TAPED OVER! (Most of it anyway. All of it until Minnie comes out to sing "Anchors Away!" and when Regis does a kick line to the end.)
I cried, in the 7th grade, when I discovered it was taped over with "The Hobbit". How it got on there, no one knows, but I have been forever searching for a copy since. Do you know where I might be able to purchase a copy, or copy from someone else's copy, so I might dance around to "Calling Dick Tracy" or watch the glittery red, white, and blue dresses emerging from the smoke on my screen again? I've tried Disney's Buena Vista line, the Disney Store, and Suncoast. I've been told the only way I may find it is to "dig in the dark" for a while. It sounds a little depressing, but if it's what I must do, I will find it!
Is there anywhere I can look?
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks a million,
Christie B
