On a recent episode of ABC’s 911, Bold and the Beautiful alum Jennifer Finnigan guest starred with a familiar face—her real-life husband, Jonathan Silverman. They have been together for 20 years and married for roughly 17 years. Ndefo’s death comes 10 years after he lost both his legs in a hit-and-run accident. The actor had left a yoga class and visited Erewhon Market on his way home just before he was hit.

Ndefo’s death was confirmed by his sister on Facebook. Nkem Ndefo captioned a photo of herself and her brother, “Heartbroken at the loss of my younger brother and knowing he’s finally at peace .”

Ndefo appeared on 10 episodes of “Dawson’s Creek” as the boyfriend of Joey Potter’s older sister, Bessie (played by Nina Repeta). His credits also include “Stargate Sg-1,” “Angel,” “Star Trek: Voyager,” “Crossing Jordan,” “NYPD Blue,” “The West Wing” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

The actor’s sister Nkem Ndefo announced her brother’s death Saturday night on Facebook with a throwback photo of herself and Obi. A cause of death has not yet been released.

“Heartbroken at the loss of my younger brother, and knowing he’s finally at peace,” wrote Nkem in the post.

Ndefo’s death comes five years after he lost both his legs in a hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles. He had since been focused on his health and recovery, remaining active as a yoga teacher over the years.

“This is just so horrendous what happened to me — why would I compound this by feeling bad about it?” he told the Los Angeles Times of his outlook after the accident.

Sony Pictures Television is shuttering its TriStar TV banner.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that TriStar TV exec vp Jennifer Turner and senior vp development Nicole Norwood are leaving as the division is being folded into the larger Sony TV fold. No additional layoffs are expected to come as part of the move.

Reps for Sony declined comment.

The decision to absorb TriStar TV into the larger Sony Pictures Television fold comes at a time of industry-wide consolidation as streamers, networks and studios alike right-size their programming and staffing needs in an era of belt-tightening following the end of the Peak TV phenomenon.

TriStar TV’s mission was to champion diverse, authentic characters and underrepresented voices. Those values have since been incorporated into the larger studio, overseen by Katherine Pope, to whom Turner reported. Sony Pictures Television Studios’ drama department will now oversee the development of current TriStar TV projects.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have signed on to executive produce “A House Is Not a Disco,” an upcoming documentary about a year in the life of Fire Island Pines. The project is from Brian J. Smith, the star of “Sense8,” who is making it his directing debut.

A new “Heroes” reboot series is in development from creator Tim Kring, Variety has confirmed.

The reboot, titled “Heroes: Eclipsed,” is set years after the events of the original superhero series, as new evolved humans are discovering their powers. Kring is executive producing “Heroes: Eclipsed” with his manager, Mosaic’s Jordan Cerf. Casting has yet to be announced.

“Heroes” ran for four seasons on NBC from 2006 to 2010, and starred Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar and Greg Grunberg. Kring then worked on the 2015 limited series “Heroes Reborn,” with Coleman reprising his role as Noah Bennet. Gary Graham, who starred as the human detective who partners with an extraterrestrial newcomer to solve crimes on the Fox sci-fi television franchise Alien Nation, has died. He was 73.

Graham died Monday of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Spokane, Washington, his wife of nearly 25 years, Becky Graham, told The Hollywood Reporter.

In the Star Trek universe, Graham played the Ocampan community leader Tanis on Star Trek: Voyager in 1995; recurred as Ambassador Soval, a Vulcan ambassador to Earth, on Star Trek: Enterprise, from 2001-05; and portrayed the first officer Ragnar in Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (2007) and Star Trek: Renegades from 2015-17.

Daytime Emmy-winning actor Tyler Christopher has died at age 50. The soap star known for his roles on General Hospital and Days of Our Lives experienced a cardiac event at his San Diego apartment, according to reports.

Christopher portrayed Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital from 1996 to 2016. That performance won him a Daytime Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series in 2016. He also played Stefan Dimera on Days of Our Lives from 2001 to 2019. His other work included roles in the ABC Family series The Lying Game and the movie Beyond the Lights. He also made appearances in Jag, CSI, Crossing Jordan, and The Twilight Zone.

According to reports, the star passed away Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City following a short illness.

He was 83.

Margolis' television career kicked off with a role on Guiding Light, but he went on to appear in countless projects.

The Equalizer, Oz, Kings, and FX's American Horror Story: Asylum, Crossing Jordan, Californication, Person of Interest, Gotham, and The Affair are just some of the shows he appeared in.

He most recently played Carmine Conti on Showtime's Your Honor, which recently wrapped its two-season run on the premium cabler.

Kidman is executive producing through Blossom Films and Curtis through Comet Pictures the drama, from writer-showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Barry) and Blumhouse Television, which I hear is nearing a two-season straight-to-series order at Prime Video. A rep for the streamer declined comment as deals for the project, to be produced by Amazon Studios and Blumhouse, are still being finalized. There’s sad news to report today, as it has been confirmed that NFL player turned actor Brad William Henke has passed away at the age of 56. A cause of death has not been revealed, but Deadline reports that Henke’s family said he died in his sleep on November 29th.

Born in Nebraska on April 10, 1966, Henke played football at the University of Arizona before being drafted by the New York Giants in 1989. He got cut during training camp, but was able to move over to the Denver Broncos, where he ended up facing off with the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl Xxiv. Following multiple injuries and six ankle surgeries, Henke retired from professional football in 1994 and got his acting career started the same year. John Oliver was left in hysterics after Stephen Colbert joked that Liz Truss was responsible for “killing the Queen” with her notoriously bad curtsy.

The Tory leader met Queen Elizabeth II on 6 September as one of her first acts as prime minister, during which she was pictured awkwardly curtsying for the monarch.

Two days later, the Queen died at Balmoral, with her funeral taking place on 19 September.

On Monday (7 November), British comedian Oliver was a guest on The Late Show, when Colbert asked him about the UK’s rapid recent run of prime ministers.

Colbert asked him for information about Rishi Sunak, who Oliver said was “wealthy beyond any real realistic expectation”.

“How’s his curtsy?” Colbert asked. “Because I don’t know if you saw Liz Truss’s curtsy, but it killed the queen. Her curtsy killed the queen.”

Oliver burst out in a fit of laughter and banged on the desk in hysterics.

The cast assembled for the HBO Max series Dune: The Sisterhood, which is a prequel to the Dune feature films, has just increased substantially. So far, the only announced cast members have been Emily Watson (Punch Drunk Love), Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), and Indira Varma (Obi-Wan). Now five more have joined the cast. Deadline reports that the new cast members are Shalom Brune-Franklin (The Tourist), Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (The Colony), Faoileann Cunningham (The Northman), Aoife Hinds (Normal People), and Chloe Lea (Foundation).

Dune: Part Two, the second half of director Denis Villeneuve’s two-part adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel Dune, started filming in Budapest, Hungary back in July and is heading for a November 3, 2023 release date. Now Deadline reports that the HBO Max series Dune: The Sisterhood, which is a prequel to the Dune feature films, is going to begin filming in Budapest next month. That means this series and Dune: Part Two will both be filming in Budapest at the same time!

With the production start date drawing near, Dune: The Sisterhood has also added Obi-Wan‘s Indira Varma to its cast.

A storm has been predicted, and they’re using that as an excuse to barricade themselves inside, so that they can dance to TikTok videos and toot cocaine and play games, including one that describes their more-or-less constant state of being: reading each other, one-upping each other, challenging each other like claw-baring rivals on a reality show. Sony Pictures Television scripted executive Jennifer Turner has been named EVP of TriStar Television, effective immediately. Turner will head Sony’s television label, reporting to Jason Clodfelter, co-president of Sony Pictures Television Studios. Turner, who will continue to be based in New York while also spending considerable time in Los Angeles, succeeds Kathryn Busby, who left in November to become President of Original Programming for Starz.

In her new role, Turner will lead efforts on both coasts to find fresh perspectives and projects that align with the label’s mission to champion diverse, authentic characters and underrepresented voices. The incredible domestic 10-day total of $467 million (and reaching $1 billion worldwide) — as much as double expectations — does raise hopes that the end is in sight for gross-challenged exhibitors. That this comes in the face of the Omicron surge — with holiday plans disrupted, Broadway and other events shutting down, some sports postponed — has to be seen as a major boost for exhibitors’ viability.

Rhonda Stubbins White, best known for performances on Tyler Perry’s BET drama series Ruthless and, to daytime viewers, her recurring role in 2000 on NBC’s Days of Our Lives, died Monday of cancer in Los Angeles. She was 60.

Her death was announced by a friend, Todd Baker, on White’s official Facebook page.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear friend Rhonda Stubbins White,” Baker writes. “She was an amazingly talented woman, full of positivity and energy, and grounded by her faith. We were all fortunate to have known her and shared her short time on this earth.”

Netflix, which has been steadily growing its subscribers in the Arab world, has teamed up with Kuwait-based production studio Ncig (National Creative Industries Group) to set up a writers’ lab that will spawn six series projects from writers based in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The plan is to turn them into market-ready pitch decks on which the streaming giant will have the right to a first look.

The Arabic series incubator initiative, which is called Ncig TV Writers’ Lab 6×6, marks Netflix’s first initiative of this type in the the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

The forthcoming Law & Order revival has added a Burn Notice alum to its ranks.

Jeffrey Donovan has joined the cast of the NBC series as a New York Police Department detective, reports Deadline.

No further details have been revealed about Donovan's character.

NBC officially picked up a 21st season of Law & Order earlier this year -- a decade after it was initially canceled.

The straight-to-series pickup was unsurprising, especially when you consider Svu and Organized Crime have both solidified themselves as strong ratings performers on Thursdays.

NBC will likely air all three shows together on one night, in a similar vein to Dick Wolf's FBI universe and Chicago universe.

Hahn will headline and executive-produce The Comeback Girl, our sister site Variety reports. The project, which is in development at the premium cabler, will chronicle Rivers’ life in the mid-1980s, after her Fox late-night talk show was cancelled and her husband, Edgar Roseberg, died by suicide.
