The closer one looks at "Bones," the more one begins to wonder if everything really does come back to Hart Hanson's long-lived rom-com/gnarly crime procedural. From multiple "Breaking Bad" actors showing up as guest stars to Kevin Yagher, the legendary creature designer who co-wrote Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow," playing a key creative role behind-the-scenes on the series with his brother Chris Yagher, it seems as though our plane of existence is merely a tangled web with "Bones" at the center. Were the show to somehow be lost to the ravages of time like so much older media has been, it's possible our reality as we know it would collapse. Clearly, we should stop playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and start playing Six Degrees of Bones instead.

I’ve seen documentaries reveal fascinating dimensions of John Lennon — films like “The U.S. vs. John Lennon” (2006), which chronicled his political activism and the Nixon administration’s attempts to deport him, or “The Lost Weekend: A Love Story” (2022), a portrait of Lennon’s relationship with May Pang. But “One to One: John & Yoko,” despite its rather nondescript title, may be the most accomplished and arresting of these tightly angled Lennon profiles. “The Lost Weekend” showed us a side of Lennon that had been somewhat under the radar. “One to One” deals with the period just before the Lost Weekend, starting in August 1971, when John and Yoko moved from their country estate outside London to New York City, where they spent 18 months living in a small apartment in the West Village. (It was after that that they moved into the Dakota.)

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1982 album, Long After Dark, is receiving a deluxe reissue set for release on October 18th via Geffen/UMe.
The remastered collection features 12 bonus tracks, including seven previously unreleased songs. “There was some music recorded for Long After Dark that didn’t get on the record, that I thought would’ve made it a better album,” the late Petty is quoted as saying in a press release. “I left off… four things that I liked quite a bit. And probably a few more written that never even got in the door.”
Notable inclusions in the expanded collection are Petty’s version of “Never Be You” (which became a No. 1 country hit for Rosanne Cash), the pop-leaning “Don’t Make Me Walk the Line,” and an uptempo version of “Ways to Be Wicked.” The latter became a single for the country rock band Lone Justice.

Robyn Brown has always been a polarizing member of the Sister Wives cast. Since season one, she has caused a great divide between viewers regarding her true intentions in the Brown family. However, her ick factor increased substantially during Season 17’s One-on-One episodes.
‘Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown said some things that increased her ick factor in Season 17
Throughout Season 17 of TLC’s Sister Wives, Robyn Brown remained steadfast in her desire for the Brown family to remain united. She was unhappy with Christine Brown leaving Kody Brown and with the poor statuses of Janelle and Meri’s unions with him as well.
However, as the season unfolded, Robyn acted as if she didn’t know or understand Christine’s reasons for leaving their clan in the infamous “knife in the kidneys” episode. “In Vegas? That’s a lie. I remember the conversations and I remember what was going on. I...

Tim McGraw was, unsurprisingly, honoured to have a Taylor Swift single named after him.
Swift’s very first single was released back in 2006 and was inspired by one of her favourite country artists at the time, Tim McGraw.
While chatting to Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman for his “One-on-One” special, McGraw said of how crazy it is that Swift launched her career with a song inspired by him: “I know. It’s pretty cool.
“At first, I have to say, when she first came out with it, I was like ‘Goddamn, am I that old that people are singing songs with my name in it now?’ Maybe I should be out the door.”

Nick Cannon’s brother Gabriel is thankful he has Google as a reminder when it comes down to naming his many nieces and nephews.
Gabriel spoke about Nick being a dad of 12 during his “Claim to Fame” winner’s interview with Entertainment Weekly.
When asked if he’d met and could name all of Nick’s kids, Gabriel replied, “I haven’t met them, but did y’all see what happened with him? He messed up [naming] all his kids, so I’m not even gonna attempt. I’m just uncle. It’s easy.”

Content removals are a sad truth in the streaming industry. People love seeing their favorite title added to a streaming service, but they must always be aware that if the series doesn’t attain the proper levels of viewership for the platform it resides on, it might eventually get pulled so the streamer isn’t paying maintenance costs on a series that doesn’t earn that money back.
Most streaming platforms in the industry are cutting titles these days, and now Netflix is preparing to shed some content. Starting in August, and continuing through October, Netflix will pull seven series from its service, all of which feature a Black lead performer. Unlike recent cuts from Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Disney, these aren’t Netflix Originals, but are instead shows from the long-extinct Upn broadcast channel, which the world’s largest streamer licensed in 2020. Those agreements are ending over the next few months,...

Reba McEntire is getting a seat at the iconic red chairs on “The Voice” Season 24.
The country music icon, 68, will join returning judges John Legend, Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani as she plans to light up the reality competition with her industry expertise.

A follow-up to “Six Feet Under” is in very early development at HBO, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
At this time, no writer is attached to the project. Likewise, no plotline has been decided, meaning it could be a reboot or more of a sequel series following up on existing characters from the show in the present day, but no decision has been made. Original series creator Alan Ball and executive producers Bob Greenblatt and David Janollari are all attached to executive produce the new project.
Reps for HBO declined to comment. Reps for Ball did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.
“Six Feet Under” aired on from 2001-2005 for five seasons and 63 episodes. The show followed the lives of the Fisher family and their associates in the running of a funeral home in Los Angeles.
The cast included Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy,...

Jon M. Chu’s long-awaited film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights” should have debuted to critical acclaim. From the dynamic musical numbers to the film’s stars, which include “Hamilton” standout Anthony Ramos, “Orange Is The New Black” star Dasha Polanco, and “Straight Outta Compton” breakout Corey Hawkins, all the signs pointed to another progressive hit on par with Chu’s “Crazy Rich Asians.”
Instead, in a film that was supposed to immortalize present-day Washington Heights — in a community called the Little Dominican Republic — the lack of Black and brown faces on screen was glaring. After all, 90 percent of Dominicans are of African descent. Unfortunately, as it is with “In the Heights,” colorism is pervasive in Latinidad. As a result, exhausting conversations about skin color, an entire market for skin lightening creams, and generation-long skin color preferences within families persist. All of this stems from rampant racism,...

If there was ever a celebrity who understands the concept of being booked and busy, it's Kyla Pratt. The 34-year-old Los Angeles native got her start as a child star in the early '90s, appearing in series such as Living Single, The Parent 'Hood, and Smart Guy, as well as beloved films like The Baby-Sitters Club, Love & Basketball, and Barney's Great Adventure. She became a household name with her role as Maya Dolittle, the daughter of Eddie Murphy's titular character in the Dr. Dolittle franchise - which she eventually became the main character of, starting with Dr. Dolittle 3.
Then, during a time when all your friends knew the low-rider and everyone's favorite tracksuits came with salacious bedazzling, Pratt cemented her name in the icon hall of fame by landing the lead for two future TV staples. If you were a child, a teenager,...

Soon after Netflix’s Strong Black Lead launched in 2018, fans began pitching the marketing team’s social channels on the kind of acquisitions they’d like to see on the service. As viewers gravitated to films like the “Friday” trilogy, “Love and Basketball” and “Love Jones,” the Strong Black Team also noticed a specific recurring hunger for the Black-led sitcoms that ran on broadcast TV — mostly The WB and Upn — in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
“Every time we would post about a new show or anything else that we were talking about in the zeitgeist, we would get people asking about ‘Girlfriends,’ wanting to watch ‘Sister, Sister,’ wanting to watch ‘Moesha,'” says Jasmyn Lawson, who until recently was manager of Strong Black Lead, overseeing its editorial output. (She’s now a part of Netflix’s comedy programming team.)
