This game is a spin off only and not much story in it. The game play is very fun and addicting. Just going around and shooting aliens is fun for hours. Basically all you do is that. Maybe a little destroying some barrels, when i look at it now it looks cheap aliens look like paper 1D not 2D but back then the graphics were GOOD.
The sound is awesome. The sound of the pulse rifle sounds right out of the freaking movie. The music is creepy, and is very nice to listen to. Especially the Main Menu music.
The polygonal worlds of Alien Trilogy look exceptional. The 3D Engine used back in 1997-1998 is one of the best seen on the PSX back in those days, almost as good as Quake II. The environments are refreshingly spooky, with steam spiralling out of broken pipes, and the pitch-black corridors are equally eerie. The corridors are well detailed as well, with pipes, vents and barrels making an appearance. The only gripes with the graphics are the sprite enemies. They look good from a distance, yet when they get close enough to you, they look horribly pixellated. And this happens quite a lot during the course of the game.
That aside, Alien Trilogy is a fun, tense and lengthy enough shooter which doesn't fail to impress. Even years after it was made, it is still enjoyable fun, even if it may take a while to get used to. It's a bargain.
