Creator Manoel Carlos was cautioned by the Brazilian Ministry of Health for the excessive smoking of some characters (particularly Anita and Nando). Carlos justified that the tobacco consisted as part of the destructive aspects of his characters.
The cast nicknamed the show "Ausência De Anita" ("Anita's absence"), since the producers felt difficulty in finding the right girl to portray Anita. Actress Mel Lisboa was the last one to be cast.
Brazilian pop singer Anitta artistically named herself after the title character. Mel Lisboa initially chose not to comment on this fact due "not understanding" Brazilian funk, but years later stated that she was "flattered" with the homage.
Actress Juliana Silveira went to try for the role of Anita, in which the girls were required to be half nude opposite actor José Mayer. Silveira ran off the line right after she heard director Ricardo Waddington say "you're next".
