Chloe is a very sympathetic heroine in this serious drama from Fred Lincoln. Unfortunately, while it's a Woman's picture in the sense of being the central figure, the emphasis on male domination is now dated (unless one ascribes to the "women love being subs" propaganda).
From the outset, the two leading male characters are real chauvinists, condescending in their dealing with Chloe. So when the ending "vindicates" their behavior as supposedly leading Chloe to sexual liberation it hit me as quite distasteful and unenlightened.
Evan Stone plays her husband, mistreating Chloe nearly to the point of gaslighting. He thinks nothing of belittling her, his constant complaint being that after 3 years of marriage she does not experiment sexually or satisfy him.
At a party where Evan is easily (way too easily) seduced by hottie hostess Bridgette Kerkove, Chloe is left to chatting with a mysterious stranger played by Randy Spears with such smugness as to be barely watchable. Yet he introduces her to swinging and according to the script saves her from a life of frigidity. Even Stone gets credited with saving their marriage, but both of them are clearly cads.
The actual swing party with cast wearing masks is tame and unexciting, while besides Spears having sex with Chloe on a stairway there is an arousing lesbian threesome outdoors featuring Bridgette, Chloe and TJ Hart.
