Exclusive: Apple TV+ thriller series Liaison, which stars Vincent Cassel and Eva Green, has sold to TF1 in France.

The Anglo-French show remains on Apple globally but has been sold non-exclusively in its second window by distributor Newen Connect.

Produced by Newen Studios-backed Ringside Studio in the UK and Leonis Productions in France, the high-stakes thriller follows two agents (played by Cassel and Green) and former lovers, who must work together in a post-Brexit era to counter violent international cyberattacks that threaten the United Kingdom, while facing the explosive buried secrets of their past relationship. The series is a high-stakes, contemporary thriller exploring how the mistakes of our past have the potential to destroy our future, combining action with an unpredictable, multi-layered plot where espionage and political intrigue play out against a story of passionate and enduring love.

Vincent Cassel (Westworld) and Eva Green (Penny Dreadful) lead the cast of Apple TV+’s new thriller Liaison, premiering on February 24, 2023. Liaison, which marks the streaming service’s first French and English language original series, finds the U.K.’s infrastructure under attack by cyber terrorists.

The cast of the six-episode season also includes Peter Mullan (Ozark), Cesar award winner Gérard Lanvin (Call My Agent!), Daniel Francis (Small Axe), and Stanislas Merhar (The Black Book). Iréne Jacob (La double vie de Veronique), Laëtitia Eido (Fauda), Eriq Ebouaney (Rogue City), Bukky Bakray (Rocks), and Emmy Award winner Thierry Frémont (Murder In Mind) also star.

P.D. James wrote 14 novels based on detective and poet Adam Dalgliesh, and the new series simply goes by the title Dalgliesh.

Bertie Carvel is bringing the enigmatic yet emotionally intelligent and empathetic Dalgliesh to life in a season set in 1970s England.

Dalgliesh specializes in solving unusual murders. The cases may sound relatively benign, but they unfold unusually and strike a chord with the viewer.

We'll first meet Dalgliesh looking into the murder of a nursing student poisoned to death during a live training demonstration (it's a death that sticks with you!).

Another investigation will involve the murders of a homeless man and a recently resigned Tory MP whose throats were slit in a London church.

Dalgliesh will also be called upon to solve a series of suspicious deaths at a home for the disabled.

Apple TV+ has greenlit Liaison, an English and French-language thriller series starring Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) and Eva Green (The Luminaries).

Don’t Breathe and Blood Father to close genre fest; world premiere of the late Pascal Chaumeil’s last film; Brandon Cronenberg project in works-in-progress strand; genre Vr panel set.

The Fantasia International Film Festival’s (July 14 - August 3) 20th edition will close with Fede Alvarez’s Don’t Breathe and Jean-Francois Richet’s Blood Father, starring Mel Gibson.

In Don’t Breathe, three friends break into the house of a wealthy blind man with unexpected consequences.

The film is produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, along with Alvarez. Sony Pictures will release in North America in late August, 2016.

Jean-Francois Richet’s Blood Father will make its North American premiere as part of the festival’s closing night events and as the official closing film of the Action! Section.
