The abduction stories and sightings featured in the mini-series are based upon accounts made from people over the many years of UFO believers.
In High Hopes (2002), Owen Crawford examines the photo of an unidentified married couple abducted by aliens. The photo is of real life couple Betty Hill and Barney Hill, who became famous in 1965 when hypnotherapy sessions allegedly revealed that they had been abducted by aliens on September 19, 1961.
The series takes place from August 1, 1944 to December 2002.
Matt Frewer (Chet Wakeman) appears on screen in six of the series' ten episodes, more than anyone else. Although Dakota Fanning (Allie Keys) narrates all ten episodes, she only appears on screen in the last four.
This is currently the most expensive film ever shot in Richmond, British Columbia, and pumped more money into the Vancouver suburb's economy than any other movie project.
