When I rate a movie on IMDb, I do so according to how entertaining it is (i.e how well it keeps my attention and interest) and as such this movie does a fine job of it for most of the skits. The humor is juvenile, though not really toilet most of the time, and the concepts are creative if poorly presented. You feel like you are watching someones home movies; and probably are. You will chuckle on occasion, and you will comment on how awful some of the skits and acting and presentation and budget are in this flick, but for the most part you won't be able to look away.
Eventually you will find it monotonous and repetitive near the end but all in all it is a good time killer and a good film to ignore while your doing the dishes. Sure to be a cult film if it isn't there already.

I saw this out of the corner of my eye at the video store so I rented it. It's not bad, but it's not great. Only an hour that I probably would have wasted anyway. Some of the skits are funny, like How To Remove The Raisins, The Wrapper, Why Jello Makes A Bad Doorstop, and a few of the How To Aggravate skits, but Len's tempo is off most of the time. Timing's good, just some of the skits needed to end sooner than they did. If your curious, watch it. If not, you're not going to lose sleep over it.

This is strange stuff.
Len Cella has compiled a time capsule of odd shorts, some very short... often lasting only a few seconds. They range from extraordinarily dumb to genuinely profound, or vice-versa depending on how open-minded you are. Moron Movies is certainly not for all tastes and it sometimes requires some dedicated soul searching in order to keep from asking yourself, "Why the hell am I watching this?".
However... don't give up on it before asking yourself why somebody would cook up such a silly collection of sketches... and why a commercial distributer would agree to pick it up and distribute Moron Movies in the first place, or why some of these sketches were aired from time to time on Carson's stint of The Tonight Show many years before Moron Movies was actually compiled and distributed. There's some inspired lunacy among the sketches that requires some investigation and thought. Of course, there's also some lamebrained efforts in this mix that make no sense at all. You decide.
Make no mistake, Moron Movies might be totally wacko and so bad it's funny in an Ed Wood Jr'ish sort of way. But then perhaps that was the whole point to begin with. It's sure not for everybody but for those who tend to share the same lunacy as Len Cella it can produce some good laughs... and those people could well find themselves repeating some of the catch phrases contained in Moron Movies in spite of themselves...
"I can type 90 words a minute but nobody will hire me just because I'm a shark."
"Does this aggravate ya? Huh? Heh heh heh..."
"They made this out of an old Buick."
As a last note, it's worth the trip through this stuff to watch Len shuffle a stack of sliced salami.
Hey, if Johnny Carson can find merit in Cella's skits, that in itself is saying something. Some people are going to love Moron Movies. Of course, others will simply record cartoons over it.

I can't believe this was ever made. I find it harder to believe that it actually found its way to a Blockbuster. There are a couple of things that'll make you chuckle (e.g. the Humane Flyswatter), but... yeah. Wow. Awful.

This has got to be the most retarded thing I have ever seen. I now feel dumber for having seen this. To call the man responsible for this disgrace, human, is a gross insult to the rest of humanity. Spare yourself this cruel and unusual punishment, and stay as far from this travesty as possible. To my own discredit, I actually watched the whole thing... just hoping that it was some sort of sadistic joke that would get better as it progressed... I was sadly disappointed. Unfortunately, 1 was the lowest rating I was able to give, as 0 is not an option. Anyone that actually found any part of this film even slightly humorous... May God have mercy on your soul.
Frankly, the low-key, lo-fi skits in this movie are hilarious and ridiculous. It's low-brow humor, yet not tasteless like South Park. Makes you think, too.

This is the worst "movie" I have ever seen. I honestly cannot put in words how unbelievably bad this is. I didn't know what to expect from Moron Movies when I first rented it. The description on the back of the rental case seemed funny enough, so I decided to watch. The description on the back of the rental case also defines the word "deceiving." The "movie" consists of about 100 or so short (some lasting a fortunate 15 seconds) skits about things ranging from an alternate use for broccoli to "King Dong." Also, there is only one person in the entire film. I am fairly certain he created, "acted", and taped each and every torturous moment of this sinful film. There really isn't much more to say about Moron Movies... I'm not sure why this didn't get Number 1 on the 100 all time bad movies. Hopefully someday it will....

I've seen the moron movies so many times, and it gets funnier every time. From what I understand, many of these sketches were taken from work that Len Cella did for the Johnny Carson Show. The quality is horrendous, and maybe about half the sketches are painfully not funny. However, if you are in silly mood, and appreciate random humor as I do, you just may enjoy it. Oh, and Moron Movies 2 isn't nearly as good.
I thought that this might be a cool alternative, underground sort of flick..... it's just a series of not very funny one liner type gags... like "Jello makes a lousy doorstop" or "how to kick yourself" or "How to tell if you're drunk"
I won't be renting Moron Movies 2

I have to say, this is not a good movie, BUT it is a fascinating one. It taps directly into the "This taste's awful, here, try some" nature of humanity. Try this experiment; rent the movie. Go somewhere where people will wander through and put the movie on. People will wander in, and say "What are you watching?". Then they will start talking about how stupid the skits are. Then they will say they can't believe they are watching it. Then they will say they are leaving...but they won't. Then they will slowly sink to their seat, all while badmouthing the movie. When the next person wanders by, like as not the exact same thing will happen. And the next. And the next. These movies are human flypaper, and eventually, you will laugh.

The case says it lasts 60 minutes. I lasted three, count 'em, three. The premises of the little skits were plausible enough, but nothing was funny. It's just not funny. "Stupid" doesn't go far enough. "Obnoxious" approaches the right word, but you still can't see the correct word from the Land of Obnoxious. It's still beyond the horizon, though people there will point you in the right direction. "Abandon all hope" says the sign that way.
I put my one point vote in for formality's sake, but I wish there were a zero or negative number to select. "Manos, the Hands of Fate" and "Plan 9 from Outer Space" are good dog movies. They meant well, but missed. This collection of puke-masters actually attempts to assassinate you, and comes close. Go ahead. Watch ten minutes. Your brain will gel and start wiggling. Plus, 1985 and the guy is still wearing leisure suits and glasses meant for the Hubble Space Telescope.

Forget what anybody says. If you watch moron movies with a bunch of friends, there is something wrong with your souls if you don't all laugh out loud to these movies! I must admit, it's obviously a very low budget, the acting needs work (but that's what gives it much of its worth). And it's so stupid and simple, yet I think it's brilliant at the same time. How in the heck could this guy sit around all day and think of some of the stuff that he's thrown into this work, no, this ART! ANybody who does watch this work of art, and not laugh at it's simplicity, really needs to relax a little. I would HIGHLY recommend watching these, especially with friends.
I must preface my thoughts by saying that I haven't seen this movie in a few years, but i do distinctly remember two of the 'moron movie' clips making my viewing worth it. Granted, the clips combined might be almost a minute out of the whole film, but they were great.
Although two of the clips were funny, this movie gives me hope. If these guys can make a movie, maybe me and my friends can.

This is truly the worst movie I have ever seen. It is not even remotely funny. The skits are stupid, the premise is stupid. The only reason I laughed was because I could not believe I was sitting through this movie. Watching this movie is a complete waste of time. Anyone responsible for making or releasing this movie should be fired if not arrested.

Oh my god, this video is so stupid, you will p*** your pants laughing. It is very refreshingly funny. Although there are a couple slow parts, it's worth watching the whole thing. I wish everyone in the world could see this movie. It's unfortunate that it is so unknown.

The title says it all.
Shot with a home video camera, this so-called comedy features one "actor" in a series of 15-30 second one-liners, none of which are even remotely funny. While it's not as painful to watch as LEONARD PART 6 and nowhere near as bad, it did absolutely nothing for me. So dull, I find it difficult to write a scathing review.
At least LEONARD PART 6 and RAPTOR afforded me that opportunity.
Rating: One sub-mediocre * out of *****

Moron Movies is the absolute worst movie I have seen in my entire life. The skits in this movie are entirely pointless and just not funny. I think that by watching this film I became less intelligent. I could actually feel my brain cells dying. Anyone who makes a movie (and I use that word very loosely)like this deserves to be put in a burlap sack, drug into the street and beaten severely with shards of bamboo. At the least, the man deserves a swift kick in the crotch. Put simply, its awful.
Len Cella is the King of Comedy! Period! This collection of 100, 30 second videos is freaking great! Pure genius! If the SNL guys would take a hint from Mr. Cella they could easily reclaim their former glory. Sketches like "Truck Wrestler", "How To Kick Yourself, parts 1 and 2", and "Why Animals Should Wear Underwear" are just a few of the few comic gems that shine in this treasure chest of pirate's booty. I will secede that there are some sketches in the middle that are repetitive but they are few and the other movies more than make up for them.
If you don't like this collection it could be that the jokes are to sophisticated for you, I recommend watching a movie like Legally Blonde, the jokes in that would probably be less of a challenge for you.
I give this collection five asterisk's out of five.
And you better believe that once I get my hands on a copy of More Moron Movies I am going to watch it because I am sure that Len Cella will not disappoint, and keep me rolling in the aisle all the way through.
Thank you, and God bless you Len Cella, King of Comedy, keep spreading the good word!
