According to an article in the Figaro of May 19, 1971, "A Wall in Jerusalem" was initially to be screened as part of the TV program "Les Dossiers de l'Ecran" on May 19, 1971. But the program never materialized. The management of the national channel ORTF justified itself by alleging that the four Arab guests who were to be opposed during the debate to the four Israeli guests had cancelled. Joseph Kessel, the author of the commentary speaks of censorship: "To use a moderate vocabulary, I will be content to say that it is inadmissible, intolerable, indecent". He also speaks of "challenge to freedom".
