Originally shot during 1987/88, the film was unfortunately caught up in the financial wranglings that followed the collapse of Empire Pictures. The movie has been shelved since that time, although it was screened once on 11 August 2012, at Chicago Flashback Weekend Horror Convention. Excluding that, the film has apparently never been shown.
The Evil Clergyman was originally intended to be a Re-Animator sequel, according to the concept art for the poster.
Two of the segments from this movie have been released (The Evil Clergyman and the Trancers sequel), while the third (Dungeonmaster sequel) has yet to be released, despite insistence to the contrary from director/producer Charles Band.
The Trancers II segment is also the only Trancers related entry to not feature any Trancers.
The Trancers 1.5 segment takes place between 1988 and the 21st century, and also takes place between the events of the original Trancers and Trancers II: The Return of Jack Deth.
