Featured review
When she dropped out of school aged 15, Nadeshda Brennicke said she wanted to be a star. She would have deserved it, so it's a shame she ends up doing so much second-rate TV in prefabricated parts. Very rarely does she get a chance to show off her natural glamor, let alone do any acting of note. She has about half a dozen feature credits to her name, none of which exactly broke the box office. I'm not saying it's never going to happen, but in France, someone with her bone structure and charisma would be raking in Césars by the dozen. Her performance as a starry-eyed stripper in this made-for-TV movie isn't bad at all. Against all odds, she manages to breathe some life into "Silicon Walli", a lame pun of a name that doesn't translate well into English. She even gets the small-town Bavarian accent right. But her part is more travesty than character, as is the entire movie.
