Two Women

excellent movie...sumitra bhave accomplishes a feet here. the movie is profound due to its simplicity. set in rural Indian village in maharashtra state it essays a story of two sisters who stand by each other through the good times and the bad. everything about this movie is phenomenally simple. there's no technical extravagance, lighting, camera-work, no brilliant shots but simply a story told very well. the screenplay is strong and solid. even the dialogues are just enough to convey the thought. the acting is simply superb. sonali kulkarni does a magnificent job for which she even got a national award. however renuka daftardar in my opinion surpass all in this one. she has few dialogues as compared to kulkarni, according to the character, but does her job bloody well. the best scene in my opinion is when, gauri comes from mumbai and meets Krishna for the first time near the "vrindavan"...there is no dialog spoken...but man is that a powerful scene. again a must watch for those who prefer sensible thought provoking movies. the marathi in this movie is typically rural which makes it even better.
