“Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light,” formats “Upside Down” and “Shaolin Heroes” and premium doc feature “Front Row,” offering a novel take on the Ukraine War, are potential highlights on Banijay’s powerhouse lineup at what promises to be one of the biggest presentations at next week’s London TV Screenings.
Mixing third-party pick-ups and Banijay productions, further scripted titles take in second seasons of two Banijay hits, the sumptuous and revisionist “Marie Antoinette,” and “Rogue Heroes,” a big WWII special ops adventure story which hit high ratings on BBC.
Unspooling over Wednesday Feb. 28 at BAFTA in three sessions, dedicated to factual, scripted and then formats, the Banijay@BAFTA lineup, as last year, the spread will give audiences a chance to catch up with high-concept adventure reality “The Summit” and “Deal or No Deal Island,” described as an “epic” recast of the format.

Rihanna and Chris Brown did a little of what they do best - luxury shopping at Lv and Gucci - in Paris yesterday. The romantic city is perfect for the stylish couple in their various matching black, white and gray pieces. Rihanna is in town to perform on Star Academy and if the viewers are lucky they'll get a steamy cameo by Chris on stage as a bonus. Rih has your favorite short haircut of the year and she recently talked about what it does for her saying, "My hair definitely inspired different things like how I dress, the swagger. I became more confident and more comfortable with myself. . . I like to have an edge to it, no matter what it is that I'm doing. Show stoppage costs TF1 €2 mil
PARIS -- French television channel TF1 said Tuesday that the interruption of its live Star Academy talent show Saturday night by striking stagehands cost the company about 2 million ($2.3 million) in advertising revenue. The company, which interrupted its primetime broadcast for two hours after a scuffle broke out between the intruding strikers and security guards, said they were forced to abort two commercial breaks of four and six minutes, resulting in the losses. France's most popular TV show was being watched by an audience of nearly 3.5 million, 42.8% of the audience viewing at that time, according to figures released by Mediametrie, the official body that measures TV audiences.

Strikers disrupt TF1's 'Star' turn
PARIS -- A group of more than 60 striking showbiz workers invaded the set of Star Academy in a Paris suburb, disrupting a live primetime telecast of France's most popular talent show and forcing it off the air. About 30 artists and stagehands, roughly half of the group of strikers, rushed onto the TV show's set Saturday night, five minutes after a young hopeful had started belting a song, unfurling a banner that read "Turn off your TVs" in French, the TF1 commercial channel confirmed the next day. TF1 hastily covered up the incident with an ad, followed by its popular Julie Lescaut police serial as an estimated audience of 6 million watched. The protest took an ugly turn when a skirmish broke out in the studio between the strikers and security staff, leaving a TF1 staffer with a broken arm and one of the protesters badly injured. They were hospitalized later, police confirmed.
