Taylor Swift isn’t the only singer showing up at NFL games these days to cheer on a player she’s romantically linked to. Hailee Steinfeld has done the same thing for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Before the “Blank Space” artist was rumored to be writing a love story with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tarvis Kelce, Steinfeld and Allen were the celebrity-athlete couple making headlines. Here’s more on their relationship including who has a higher net worth the athlete or the Pitch Perfect star?

Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon have starred as Carrie Bradshaw and Miranda Hobbes in Sex & the City and its sequels since the ’90s. The two actors have something else in common, too. They both began their careers when they were very young and appeared in a movie together as young teens.
Parker first appeared on Broadway in The Innocents when she was 11 years old. Two years later she played the starring role in Annie. She went on to star in the early ’80s sitcom Square Pegs before her roles in major films such as Footloose and Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
Nixon was also a preteen actor with her first role being in an ABC Afterschool Special. Her film debut was in 1980’s Little Darlings, and in that same year, she first appeared on Broadway.

Lance Kerwin, who played horror-loving vampire hunter Mark Petrie in the television movie Salem’s Lot, has died. He was 62.
Lance Kerwin’s death was announced by his daughter on social media this week, with a post that read, “I am so sorry to those we have not been able to reach out to personally to notify but Lance Kerwin passed away yesterday morning. We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared. As the coming weeks progress, I will share more information about after life ceremonies. He loved each and every one of you.”
Mark Petrie had several television credits on his resume, but none garnered more attention than that of Salem’s Lot, an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel. In the film’s most iconic moment–and, really, one of the great scenes in any horror movie–Mark Petrie lies in bed as one of...

Trevor Donovan and producer Brian Bird have teamed up to create a series of “edutainment”-style films via Birds’ production company True Brand Entertainment, Variety has learned exclusively.
These films will be in the tradition of the popular “after school specials,” which became staples of American pop culture. The projects will explore many struggles teenagers and young adults are facing today, including substance abuse, equality, bullying and inclusion issues.
“These scripted narratives will be fun and humorous presentations of contemporary issues which inspire and uplift, just as they did in the original series,” says Donovan, who rose to fame on “90210,” playing the show’s only Lgbtqi+ series regular character. “That model worked well back then, and after twenty years, the lessons and storytelling that entertained Gen-x should be enjoyed again.”
Bird, who co-created “When Calls the Heart” and “When Hope Calls,” feels that now is the perfect time for the project.

Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Peacock has landed for development After School Special, an hourlong drama from Lucifer writer-producer Aiyana White, Lucifer executive producer/co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich, Keshet Studios and Universal Television where Keshet is based.
After School Special is created and written by White loosely based on her real-life experiences as a low-income high school student working as a part-time nanny.
Described as “Cinderella meets The Sopranos,” After School Special centers on Callie who is about to enter her freshman year of high school as the lone scholarship kid at the most exclusive prep school in tech boom Palo Alto. She’s under-dressed, under-educated, and under-supervised… until an after-school nanny job turns her life around. Her new employers are wealthy, sophisticated, and most importantly, involved in her life. In addition to paying her a ridiculous hourly rate, they teach Callie how to drive (in the Bentley), what to wear...

The film explores the history of psychedelics — its pros and cons and cultural impact — while pondering its possibilities for treating depression and addiction. “I don’t think psychedelics are the answers to the world’s problems,” Sting says in the opening of the clip. “But they could be a start.”

Many a personal device will be at least temporarily darkened by “The Social Dilemma” — though whether it’s already too late to stem, mid-course, the societal disaster the film charts is just one of many questions it raises. This potent documentary by Jeff Orlowski lends a podium to various experts who are certain the pervasive influence of under-regulated social media is destroying civilization from within. The problem, to paraphrase Mark Twain, is that it’s much easier to manipulate people than to persuade them they’re being manipulated.
It’s a thesis that doesn’t seem so improbable after 93 minutes of this densely packed yet lively and entertaining documentary, whose accessibility is heightened by some narrative play-acting. Easily one of the most talked-about docs at Sundance this year, “The Social Dilemma” is sure to attract significant interest from buyers for various formats around the world.

Garcelle Beauvais, best known from her role as Fancy from the 1996-2001 sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, and producing partner Lisa L. Wilson have acquired a one-hour scripted series, Barely Legal, about a Haitian Immigrant family from writer Mike Gauyo. Loosely based on Gauyo’s family experiences, the plot follows a thick as thieves immigrant Haitian family, who takes a “fake it, till you make it” approach to life to survive today’s American legal system. Beauvais and Wilson will serve as executive producers via their Beauvais Wilson Productions shingle. The duo recently produced Lalo’s House, a feature that highlighted the devastating world of child sex trafficking. Tis Better to Give: Noyce’s Adaptation Too Little Too Late in Ya Dystopic Cinema
In today’s onslaught of dystopic film franchises dominated by adaptations of young adult novels, the announcement that Philip Noyce would be resurrecting Lois Lowry’s Newberry Medal winning 1993 title The Giver seemed to make perfect sense. But in today’s cluttered market of similar scenarios, the powerful allegory that initially made Lowry’s text such a lasting achievement seems cheapened by the glossy, over baked screen version that seems more medicated than the anesthetized minds of its characters.
After some kind of unexplained happening that nearly resulted in the end of civilization, a band of elders of the surviving peoples have managed to erase all memory and start from scratch, creating a rather rigid yet positively inclined utopia. All citizens live in units, are assigned to jobs and families based on talents and needs,...

Reckless Review
CBS‘ latest offering, Reckless, at least has the positive quality of not dancing around with what sort of nonsense it is. It lets you know where things are going right with the introductory scene. A woman is pulled over by a police officer, and she may have been drinking, but she’ll do anything not to get a ticket. You may raise your eyebrows as the officer has her cuffed to a fence and begins to take advantage of the situation, but wait, it’s all okay, because this is just a little sexual roleplay between consenting adults. (Whew. Tee hee hee. Oooo. Steamy.)
This leads us into the show’s main thrust (ha), which is to sidestep the majority of the establishment requirements by focusing on one story for at least a good while. We quickly meet Jamie Sawyer (Anna Wood), a defense attorney who is working...

If John Hughes were to have made Groundhog Day the results may not be unlike indie comedy Premature, a teen sex comedy revolving around a high school student caught in a time loop bookended by unfortunate orgasms. It's 'American Pie' meets 'Groundhog Day' in this hilarious and tender coming-of-age comedy. Rob is facing the biggest day of his life. He needs to nail a college interview ensuring his admittance to his parents' beloved alma mater, keep his cool when life-long crush Angela (nicknamed 'After School Special' for a reason) finally seems to show interest, and deal with his best friends as they realize their high school days are ending. As pressure mounts, something weird happens. He finds himself reliving the day's events over and over again....

A review of tonight's "Louie" coming up just as soon as I fart for science... "In the Woods" puts the various arcs of season 4 on hold for an epic-length (without commercials, the "episode" runs 66-plus minutes) flashback to Louie's adolescence, as catching Lily smoking pot reminds him of one of the dumbest episodes of his life. Louis C.K. grew up in the era of the "After School Special," well-meaning but often unintentionally hilarious stories trying to warn kids away from drugs, drinking and all the other tomfoolery teenagers get up to. (Here's an excerpt from "Stoned," produced the year before "In the Woods" is set, starring Scott Baio as a straight-laced student whose life falls apart after he experiments with the marijuana.) And though C.K. has much greater command of tone — and respect for his audience's intelligence — than the makers of those specials did, there's always a danger...

After about a month of taking in what the WWE Network has to offer I thought we could take a look at some of the things that are worth your time on there, and even just to pick up on DVD. Every PPV event from WWE(F), WCW and Ecw is included on the on-demand section of the network, which means there is hundreds of shows and thousands of hours worth of wrestling to dig through, so I wanted to whittle it down to ten shows that I feel are worth watching, and the reasons will be highlighted too.

The Man Who Wasn’t There: Koland’s Debut Lost In Its Own Drift
Poor Minnesota, it sure gets a bum rap when it comes to the movies. When its representation is not subjected to the Diablo Cody affect or used in name only (Contagion), it’s featured as the cold and isolated harbor of blandly unappealing stock types, at last as Ted Koland utilizes the state for his directorial debut, Best Man Down. A victim of title modification (originally, the film was to be known as Lumpy, which would have served it better in several ways, both good and bad), you wouldn’t be remiss in approaching the film as if it were a light, romantically tinged comedy, its new name suggesting or hinting that people like Ashley Judd should be littered throughout the cast. Here at EW, we’re starting a new weekly series in which we — and readers — weigh in on ways to rehab much-maligned characters on some of our favorite shows.
Even Glee’s biggest fans would likely agree that season 4 of the show was fairly up and down: For every stellar moment — like the breakup episode or Rachel’s beautiful callback audition — there were parts that were painfully unrealistic or, even worse, boring. And many of the moments that made us groan came back to McKinley’s new mean girl: Kitty Wilde. But Kitty’s not going anywhere anytime soon (the actress,...

It's sort of shocking to think that it's been 20 years since "The Sandlot," the charming, coming-of-age baseball movie, was released theatrically, but it's the sad, sad truth. And to celebrate the anniversary, director David Mickey Evans (who went on to a prestigious directing career that included such immortal classics as "National Lampoon's Barely Legal" and "Ace Venture Jr.: Pet Detective") has been touring the movie nationwide, we assume in an Rv that's shaped like the giant, fearsome dog in the movie. Evans recently stopped by a Minnesota Twins with two of the movie's original stars, who took pictures and were awkwardly interviewed on Fox Sports.
Patrick Renna, who played Ham, and Chauncey Leopardi (wait, that's really his name?), who are now 34 and 31, got to tour the Twins' locker room, which probably meant they saw a lot of dongs, and were even invited into the coach's office. No word yet...

The Vampire Diaries, Season 4, Episode 23: “Graduation”
Written by Caroline Dries and Julie Plec
Directed by Chris Grismer
Airs Thursdays at 8pm (Et) on the CW
This week, on The Vampire Diaries: Everyone graduates, we meet Silas, and Elena makes her choice
The Vampire Diaries has had a wildly uneven season four. Yes we’ve had all-time best episodes like “Memorial” and, in particular, “Stand by Me”, but we’ve also gotten episodes that are downright dreadful, such as “After School Special” . The central character has been all but abandoned as a priority, with any agency or sense of self missing from Elena for the majority of the season, the Big Band has been almost completely bungled, and many of the supporting and periphery characters have been written horribly inconsistently. It’s not surprising then that the finale should suffer from many of the same problems as the rest of season four.

Review Caroline Preece Jan 28, 2013
The Vampire Diaries is moving all the pieces into place for a major showdown. Here's Caroline's review of Catch Me If You Can...
This review contains spoilers.
4.11 Catch Me If You Can
We’re back in Mystic Falls for a slightly less entertaining, but no less interesting, episode compared to last week’s, and our three teams currently competing for the cure are still circling each other. To recap, we have Bonnie and Shane, Damon and Klaus (and Elena, Jeremy and Matt), and Stefan and Rebekah, all of who have a different vital artefact in their possession. Just to complicate things even more, as The Vampire Diaries loves to do, there’s now a potential fourth team, as a particularly torture-proof stranger is seen breaking into Shane’s office and retrieving Silas’ headstone (which Stefan and Rebekah now have).
Got all of that? Good. Starting with Stefan and Rebekah,...

We had one of the best Delena moments ever on last week’s The Vampire Diaries, but will Elena actually make it to Damon or will shenanigans ensue? What’s the deal with Bonnie’s dad? And is Jeremy really up to completing the map? That’s quite a few vampires he’s going to need to exterminate.
If you’ve forgotten any key moments from last week’s episode – and really, a fair amount takes place every week, so you are forgiven – then we have another of those nicely snarky fun rehash featurettes for you, along with a TV spot and clip from the new episode as an appetizer before the main course tonight.

Review Caroline Preece Jan 21, 2013
The Vampire Diaries is back with a renewed sense of purpose. Here's Caroline's impressed review of After School Special...
This review contains spoilers.
4.10 After School Special
We’re finally back in Mystic Falls after a long hiatus, and no one’s really concerned over the big death that took place during the winter finale. Poor Tyler is used and abused more than usual this week and, as far as I can tell, isn’t even inducted into any of the teams formed at the end of the episode. After a Breakfast Club-style honesty game in the library, war has broken out over the prophesised vampire cure, and the cast are split up in surprising ways. Damon is still training Jeremy up at the lake house, and Bonnie finds the dark side of her magic lessons with Shane. Oh, and Bonnie’s dad is now the mayor.

The Vampire Diaries returned this week with fresh heartbreak and new alliances. What did you think of "After School Special?"
In the latest edition of the TV Fanatic Round Table, panelists Matt Richenthal, Dan Forcella, Miranda Wicker, Steve Marsi and Leigh Raines break down everything from Damon and Elena's night at the cabin to Matt's totally radical new jacket. Read on and join in!
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene or quote from the episode?
Matt: His relationship with Jeremy is now Complicated? He understand why the Hybrids found Klaus "annoying." He wants Elena to drop everything (pants especially!) and book it to the cabin? Yeah. There weren't enough great Damon Salvatore quotes to list in this space.
Dan: My favorite moment was that phone call. I love you. Yup, they got me again. Right at the heart strings.
Miranda: A lot of felt underwhelming compared to how things were left with the winter finale.

The Vampire Diaries, Season 4, Episode 10: “After School Special”
Written by Brett Matthews
Directed by David Von Ancken
Airs Thursdays at 8pm (Et) on the CW
This week, on The Vampire Diaries: Rebekah puts Elena and Stefan in time out, Tyler has Mommy issues, and Klaus takes Jeremy’s training in a new direction
The majority of this week’s Vampire Diaries falls into a fairly common genre-show category- the truth serum episode. For whatever reason, be it chemical, magical, or other, characters with built-up secrets are forced together in a situation where they cannot lie. This is often used for comic effect, but almost always ends with a dramatic revelation or two. Here, Elena and Stefan can’t lie, thanks to Rebekah Compelling them, and it’s revealed that Elena’s in love with Damon, not Stefan, and that Stefan would forget their entire time together if given the choice.

The Vampire Diaries Episode 410
“After School Special”
Written By: Brett Matthews
Directed By: David Von Ancken
Original Airdate: 17 January 2013
In This Episode...
During a town memorial for Carol Lockwood, Elena thinks she sees Rebekah in the crowd. She finds April crying in the hallway, but it is a ruse. Rebekah is indeed “alive” and she snaps Elena’s neck. Rebekah calls Stefan and kidnaps Caroline and pretty soon she has an Algonquin Roundtable of compelled vampires. She recaps the whole vampire cure deal, but notices that the tension in the room is unusually high. Caroline finally tells her that Stefan and Elena broke up. Rebekah’s interest is piqued; more so when Stefan says, “She slept with Damon.” Rebekah is distracted from the vampire cure to focus on pouring salt on that wound. She compels Elena into admitting that she is no longer in love with Stefan, but she is...

The Vampire Diaries returned from hiatus last night with "After School Special," a 2013 premiere that focused on the wrath of Rebekah; the true feelings of Elena; and the revealed motives of Shane.
The episode also ended with Jeremy getting a bloody look at his immediate future, a storyline that is the focus of the official CW preview for next Thursday's "Catch Me If You Can." Watch now as Jeremy gets his hunt on:

Spoiler Alert! If you haven’t seen this week’s “After School Special” episode of The Vampire Diaries, stop reading now. The central love triangle took another interesting turn. We asked showrunner Julie Plec for a hint of what’s to come.
Entertainment Weekly: Compelled by Rebekah to tell the truth about why she slept with Damon, Elena said it wasn’t because of the sire bond — it’s because she loves him. Then Elena phoned Damon and told him it felt real to her, and she said, “I love you.” Does that settle the debate, or does that question still exist?...

[Warning: Spoilers from Thursday's winter premiere.] A funeral, a confession and a death -- well, sort of. The Vampire Diaries came back with a vengeance Thursday night with "After School Special," with much of that resting on the shoulders of a pissed-off Rebekah (Claire Holt), eager to find answers about the cure. But first, Mystic Falls said goodbye to Mayor Lockwood, who died a grisly death at the bloody hands of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in the winter finale. As they say, however, the show must go on, and the town appoints Rudy Hopkins, Bonnie's (Kat Graham) father, the

The Vampire Diaries finally returned after a lengthy hiatus this week, airing an "After School Special" that featured the return of Rebekah, harsh truth from Elena, a transformation for Tyler, sides being chosen in a race for the elusive elixir and, unfortunately, a rather lame writing crutch to get everyone there.
Who knew compulsion could make everything so easy?
It was a pleasure to see Claire Holt back in my living room (or as close as she'll ever get to my living room... damn), as Rebekah can always be relied on to bring the perfect combination of pain and pity, revenge and bitterness.
She lashes out because she's lonely, she turns her sorrow into rage. Can you blame her? Considering all she's been through with Klaus as a brother?

What's better than the return of The CW's The Vampire Diaries tonight? How Paul Wesley exclusively let me in on some huge details on what to expect next for the series. How will Stefan and Damon's relationship change after Caroline spilled the juicy news? What's this new romance we hear with Rebekah's return? And does Paul really want the ripper in all his dark glory to return once again?
Oh, and yes Stelena fans, he did chime in about Elena and Stefan's future in season 4. He didn't divulge too much, but if he did, what would be the fun in that? Besides, think again if you thought he'd have to keep tight-lipped about other story lines too. "You have no faith in me!" he jokingly reassured.
Just like his role as Stefan Salvatore, Wesley did not disappoint. Cue the swoons.

Just hours away from The Vampire Diaries 2013 premiere, "After School Special," The CW has released new photos from the January 24 installment, "Catch Me If You Can."
The pictures themselves don't reveal a lot, except that Jeremy is still fighting the urge to slice open his sister; while Bonnie is still getting way too close with Professor Shane.
Fans can also expect Matt's life to be placed in danger on the episode... Kol to make his presence felt... Rebekah and Stefan to grow closer... and a "totally unexpected enemy" to create some trouble, according to the official network synopsis.

The fourth season of The CW's biting saga The Vampire Diaries has been one wild ride, but no one expected it to end in a senseless murder, least of all the hunky werewolf/vamp hybrid Tyler, who basically spent his time sexing Caroline and buying new clothes to rip through. But now that his mother's been drowned by that dastardly Klaus, Tyler wants revenge. And revenge is a funny thing on a lot of agendas: Rebekah and Stefan are each on personal paths to self-redemption, and this new extended trailer teases a bit of how this trio grapples with their latest foes. For two, it'll be Klaus, but for the broken-hearted Salvatore, it's that cheating floozy Elena. Watch the trailer for "After School Special" below:

Based on the following promo, it's no wonder Klaus may soon star in a Vampire Diaries spinoff set in New Orleans: life in Mystic Falls is about to get rather dangerous for this Original Hybrid.
Jeremy doesn't want to take his advice. Rebekah is back in the picture. And Tyler? In response to the murder of his mother, this werewolf looks to be turning - literally - into Klaus' worst nightmare.
The CW has supplied TV Fanatic with an Exclusive extended trailer for Thursday's return episode of The Vampire Diaries, as new footage depicts a Rebekah/Tyler alliance; Jeremy in training; and Elena breaking Stefan's heart with an admission about sex with Damon.

Warning: The following clip is very sexy. Watch & ogle at your own risk.
Just when you thought Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) sex scene was going to be the hottest moment of The Vampire Diaries‘ fourth season, along comes this clip from the Jan. 17 episode, titled “After School Special,” which finds Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) engaging in a bit of friendly sparring at the Gilbert lake house. And by “friendly sparring,” I mean going fist-to-fist in a barrage of sleeveless delight.
Damon shows up to provide a little guidance to his pupil, but he can’t even look straight at Jeremy and Matt, presumably because he feels bashful. I mean, this is basically porn, so I completely understand.
Then Jeremy gets angry, and I swear I half-expect him to say, “Come at me bro!” I’ve watched this clip several times, and I...
