When Mandy undresses, there's a shot of Colin through the arch of her leg, echoing the famous shot from "The Graduate," which was also based on a Charles Webb novel. The Beginning of the movie is a reference to the movie as well when Colin Ware walks through the airport just like Ben Braddock did.
Mandy and Colin ride on the bow of the ship, and she calls out "I'm the king of the world!" (There's a shot of this in the IMDb photo gallery for the film.)
