Hong Kong-based Young Live Entertainment is launching sales on The Tag Along 2, the Taiwanese horror sequel based on the popular urban myth about the Little Red Girl.

Once again produced by Hank Tseng and directed by Cheng Wei Hao, the horror will bring back the original’s star Hsu Wei Ning and River Huang. Joining the cast are two winners of Taiwan’s Golden Bell best actress award: Rainie Yang and Francesca Gao, who will play a social worker and unstable mother respectively.

Through the tales of the three women, the sequel will reveal the identity of the little red girl who is kept a mystery in the first film.

The BBC One drama gained around 700,000 viewers from last week, attracting 5.1 million (21.6%) at 9pm.

Earlier, Countryfile topped the night overall with 6.3m (30.8%) at 7pm, followed by Antiques Roadshow with 5.1m (22.4%) at 8pm. Alan Hansen's final ever Match of the Day and the last of the season scored 2.9m (26.3%) at 10.35pm.

On BBC Two, The Best of Top Gear entertained 1.2m (5.3%) at 8pm, while Hidden Treasure: The Comedy Vault amused 1.5m (6.2%) at 9pm. Qi Xl gathered 1.5m (9.1%) at 10pm.

As one half of a season (series? say it ain’t so, NBC!) finale, it’s hard to judge “Basic Story” in a vacuum. Double that when it’s an episode where nothing actually happens – until everything is happening, and the fate of Greendale is in the balance, as is the sanity of every member of the Greendale 7 (except Shirley, I guess? She just kind of vanishes at some point). In those final moments, it does feel like Community is straining a bit to give its finale purpose, throwing in tease after tease (including one I’m really hoping is just a big, fat mislead for “Basic Sandwich” to demolish) – though again, the episode plays things so close to the chest it’s hard to tell what’s actually going on.

 

There's so much to like about the 1985 science fiction / horror / action-packed apocalypse flick Lifeforce that one finds it very easy to overlook the film's numerous problems. I mean, why worry about boring stuff like editorial cohesion and tonal consistency when you have a flick jam-packed with spaceships, vampires, lasers, mass murder, and one of the most gorgeous naked ladies to ever grace the silver screen? No movie geek worth their stripes could dismiss Tobe Hooper's Lifeforce without admitting that there's some pretty amazing stuff on display in this adorably weird movie. Or if not amazing then at least novel, diverting, and audacious. The movie does borrow from a ton of other sci-fi films, but it has also inspired a few moments in films like Species, The Hidden, and 28 Days Later, so it all seems fair in the end.

It looks like the Keno brothers are done finding "buried treasure," at least on Fox anyway. The network has dropped the short-lived non-scripted series after one season. Buried Treasure ran for four episodes last summer, from August 24th until September 14th.

The TV series follows two professional appraisers, Leigh and Leslie Keno, as they travel to people's houses to inspect potentially rare and unusual items. The participants are often in need of cash and so episodes share their emotional journies as items are brought to auction and sold.

The Keno brothers are well known from their work on PBS' Antiques Roadshow series.

The "America's Got Talent" finale was down a little from last year's season ender, but it still provided a solid platform to launch NBC's new comedy "Up All Night." Companion comedy "Free Agents" wasn't so fortunate, though, and the debut of "Survivor: South Pacific" was also a little low.

And it would appear we are a nation of "H8Rs," as The CW's celeb-boosterism reality series got off to a pretty meager start. "America's Next Top Model" took a tumble as well.

NBC led the way Wednesday night with 12.2 million viewers and a 7.4 rating/12 share in households. CBS (9.2 million, 5.5/9) came in second. ABC finished a distant third with 4.5 million viewers and a 2.9/5, followed by Fox at 2.9 million and 2.0/3. The CW's reality premieres averaged 1.6 million viewers and a 1.1/2.

The race was a little closer for the adults 18-49 crown, but NBC still came out on top with a 3.3 rating.

NBC averaged 7.9 million viewers and a 4.9 rating/8 share in households Wednesday evening, topping the 6.45 million viewers and 4.1/7 for second-place CBS. ABC (4.5 million, 2.9/5) came in third, a little ahead of Fox (3.9 million, 2.5/4). The CW scored 1.3 million viewers and a 0.9/1.

A couple weeks ago, Fox debuted a new alternative series called Buried Treasure. On that show, a pair of antique appraisers identify the hidden value of items owned by regular people. On NBC's game show called It's Worth What?, contestants play the appraisers and try to guess the value of unique items. Fox's show has been tanking and probably won't be back. "Big Brother" got a ratings bump Wednesday and helped lead CBS to the top of the heap in the adults 18-49 demographic. The "America's Got Talent" results show, meanwhile, was down from last week but still grabbed the most total viewers.

NBC led the night overall with 6.9 million viewers and a 4.4 rating/7 share in households. CBS (6.4 million, 4.0/7) wasn't far behind in second. ABC (4.4 million, 2.9/5) took third. Fox finished fourth with 3.2 million viewers and a 2.1/3, while The CW drew a little over 1 million viewers and a 0.8/1.

CBS led among adults 18-49 with a 2.0 rating, beating out NBC's 1.7. ABC came in third in the demo with a 1.5, followed by Fox, 1.0, and The CW, 0.4.

Since Big Brother tends to go up in the finals (Vs. last week’s fast nationals, last night’s episode was actually up 14%), the reality series may post a new high when the Live+same day ratings are released later today. Buried Treasure follows twin brothers and appraisers Leigh and Leslie Keno as they visit people's homes. Appearing as appraisers on the PBS series Antique Roadshow, the "treasure hunters" help people discover that some of the items in their homes may be worth a lot more than they know. For example, the old cabinet that was your grandmother's might be worth enough to wipe out your credit card debt or pay for your kid's college education. The results show for "America's Got Talent" got a decent-sized bump over last week in leading NBC to an across-the-board ratings win Wednesday night. "Big Brother" dipped a little, and not many people seemed to notice the premiere of "Buried Treasure" on Fox.

NBC drew 7.3 million viewers and a 4.4 rating/7 share in households for the night, topping CBS (6.3 million, 4.1/7) by about a million viewers. ABC (4.2 million, 2.8/5) finished third. Fox took fourth with 3.05 million viewers and a 1.9/3, while The CW trailed with 1 million viewers and a 0.7/1.

NBC also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.0 rating. CBS wasn't far behind with a 1.8. ABC snagged third place with a 1.4, while neither Fox (0.9) nor The CW (0.4) could get above the 1.0 mark.
