The singer stars alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan in this year’s Hurry Up Tomorrow, which is said to be both inspired by as well featuring new music from The Weeknd.

Hurry Up Tomorrow releases in theaters on May 16, 2025, and Entertainment Weekly has provided us with first look images along with fresh insights this morning.

Exclusive: The Weeknd is depicted as a curious toddler by filmmaker Eddie Alcazar in the new stop-motion short film Red Terror, an accompaniment to the song of the same name off his latest album release Hurry Up Tomorrow. The video can be viewed below.

Alcazar created the nightmarish fantasy film concept following a conversation with the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer and actor who requested that “a boy in a haunted forest” be the story’s focal point. From idea to concept to final product took Alcazar about three to four months to complete.

“The creative freedom and time I had working with Abel allowed us to dive deep into raw themes and bold techniques. By blending live action, stop motion, and VFX, we’ve crafted something truly unique—an experience that pushes boundaries while staying rooted in raw emotion,” Alcazar told Deadline on Saturday following the project’s drop.

The Weeknd has announced a 26-date stadium tour in support of his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow.

The massive “After Hours Til Dawn 2025” trek will kick off May 9 at the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix and wrap on Sept. 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Throughout the tour, the Weeknd will receive support from Playboi Cart and Mike Dean (Carti, however, won’t be on-hand for the two shows in Los Angeles, June 25 and 26).

Registration for the artist pre-sale is open now until Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. Et, with the pre-sale itself beginning Feb.

For the late-night show performance, the musician stripped the color from the video feed and showcased the dynamic track in black and white while wearing a hood cloak and glowing eyeglasses. After sparks ignited from the lights above, the video switched back to color to reveal an empty audience with only a clapping baby watching. Things took an even more surreal turn from there as the singer followed the baby into an animated landscape.

Michelle Pfeiffer is set to star in Showtime’s “The First Lady,” an upcoming anthology series that will examine the lives of several former first ladies.

Variety reported on Thursday that Pfeiffer, who starred in recent films such as the upcoming “French Exit,” as well as “mother!,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” and “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” will portray Betty Ford, who served as First Lady of the United States from 1974 to 1977. Susanne Bier will direct and executive-produce the hour-long series. After a competitive search, Massoud landed the coveted role in the 2019 live-action feature, which grossed over 1 billion dollars worldwide. Massoud also is set to star in the sequel, which will be directed by Guy Ritchie. Diane Weyermann, the content chief for Participant Media, has stepped down as co-chair of the international feature film’s executive committee, Variety has confirmed.

Weyermann decided to leave her role as co-chair of the executive committee due to her professional relationship with the documentary “Collective,” which has been selected to represent Romania in this year’s International Feature Film competition. “Collective” was produced by Participant.

Alhough Weyermann is not personally credited on the film and was not responsible for the financing, Participant—for which she is head of documentaries—co-acquired the film and is handling its release.

After sharing the screen in American Hustle and more substantially in Silver Linings Playbook, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence have a rapport that pays dividends in a sepia-hued adaptation of Ron Rash's novel Serena. Without their combined starriness, this period love story would sink into a slushy bog.

Now, she’s settled on A Second Chance, an intense drama starring Game of Thrones‘ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (pictured above in the first image from the film). Though we already knew that the film would address the moral turpitude faced by those who have endured terrible tragedies, a new plot synopsis has shed some light on what we can expect.

Mads Mikkelsen, as handsome as you like, lowers himself into a seat, rolls a cigarette and stares handsomely out over the sea. Did I mention he was handsome? Not only is he wearing the kind of shiny suit that only the handsomest among us can get away with, he's also sporting a radioactive tan that sets off his handsomely glittering eyes. The tan, he says, is because he's just come back from shooting a western in South Africa, not, I'm relieved to discover, the latest manifestation of the World Conspiracy of Handsomeness.
