Jamie Hill (“Two and a Half Men”), Carter Jenkins (“The Following”), Chris Hayes (“Divergent”), Liv von Oelreich (“Masters of Sex”) and “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent Carly Steel are set to star in the indie thriller “Headgame,” TheWrap has learned. Native American filmmaker and visual artist Steven Paul Judd (“Death Factory”) will direct from a script by Roberto Marinas. “Headgame” stars Hill as a sweet yoga instructor who, after a first date with a mysterious man, wakes up in an abandoned warehouse with seven other strangers who have been forced into a deadly game for the amusement of a twisted secret society.

Spotted those shiny boxed horror movies in your local Tesco? Craig's watched them. All of them.
There's a certain type of horror film fan who enjoys a challenge. Perhaps they like a sense of adventure with their films. Perhaps there's also an element of gambling. It starts small. Low odds. For example, they might buy a boxset of the Alien Quadrilogy. Four seemingly reasonable films but there's an element of both chance and endurance. Can you sit through nearly eight hours of Alien films? And, if you can, how many of them will you like? Eventually not only does the thrill become harder to chase as the product's effect gets weaker (anyone who's bought Hellraiser boxsets will know the rules of diminishing returns) but there are only a finite number of franchises in the world and the hardened need to find new, strange ways of getting their kicks.
So bear with me.

Eidos Montreal's 2014 release of "Thief" has the misfortune (arguably) to arrive after the well-received "Dishonored," a game whose look and feel was inspired by the Eidos franchise and is fresher in gamers' minds. And look, conceptually, I've admired the stealth game more than I've actually wanted to play it. Give me a game like Ubisoft's first few "Splinter Cell" games, and I'll politely acknowledge the intricacies of the level design which are driven by deliberate, cautious encounters (or non-encounters) with trigger-happy, heavily-scripted enemies. Looking at something like "Tenchu" it was about limited input for an over-matched player character in tightly-controlled game worlds of trial-and-error survival and typically, I've hated every minute of them.
But 2012 saw the release of four titles that took the lessons of their predecessors and evolved the genre in smart ways. Consider the exquisite art and sound design of Klei's "Mark of the Ninja" which made its world one of the deliberate,...

Allow me to say this with as much conviction and vigor as humanly possible - Screw Camping! Most of the time no good ever comes from doing that shit. Insects, deformed murderers, and wiping your ass with a handful of leaves? Nope, not for me.

Movie-making isn't all parading around with Angelina Jolie and accepting Academy Awards. In fact, director Benjamin Cooper is here to tell us that on the low budget end of filmmaking it's all about being shrewd, making good decisions about everything and playing to your strengths. And Cooper is hoping with all this, and a little luck, his film Primitive can turn a profit.
Primitive is a pure creature feature. It's got the beastie with the claws and teeth, as well as the bloody wounds caused by them. Judging by what we've seen, it doesn't look like Cooper holds back too much on the gore. Kudos for that, Benjamin.
Cooper has a sneak preview for his film scheduled for October 8 at the inaugural Black October Art and Film Invasion in Vegas, as well as a limited theatrical run in its hometown of San Luis Obispo beginning on October 20. In the release...

At the age of 14, Tiffany Shepis made her film debut with a bit part in Troma's 1996 cult fave Tromeo and Juliet. Since that unassuming start, Shepis has gone on to become one of indie horror's most loved, and most talented, performers. I recently sat down with Shepis for a free-wheeling, unfiltered conversation about her life, her career, and long hours, bad food and stupid people.
First, congratulations on your recent nuptials, Ms. Honeymooner. A little birdie named Heidi told me you've married Sean Tretta, the director of your wonderful new film, The Frankenstein Syndrome. FanGirlTastic wants the inside story, so make with the dish, sis. Had y’all known each other previously? Did you swoon at first sight?
Thanks! Yeah, that li'l birdie Heidi has a big fucking birdie mouth! [laughs] Yes, I did get married to Sean. We met briefly before working together on Frankenstein Syndrome at a Fango [Fangoria convention] in Los Angeles.

Horror filmmaker Sean Tretta has become pretty good at problem-solving. On small, independent flicks like Death Factory Bloodletting, Tretta had to deal with the usual issues that plague a low-budget shoot. But his new movie, The Frankenstein Syndrome, is his largest production to date. And with a bigger budget comes a whole new set of problems. "What surprised me is that no matter how much money you have, you always wish you had more."
"I had far more money for Frankenstein Syndrome than I had on all my other films combined, but it was still hard work," Tretta says. "Bigger productions mean more people and more issues. Obviously, the goal of any film, regardless of the budget, is to stretch each dollar as far as you can. People are shocked when I tell them what the budget of our film is — shocked that we did it for as little as we did.

Wolfpak Industry Productions - the producers behind recently-wrapped sci-fi flick 15 Till Midnight - have teamed with Death Factory on a controversial new film called Song of the Shattered.
Filming is under way in Eastern Pennsylvania. The project is being helmed by 15 Till Midnight's Wolfgang Meyer, with some scenes to be directed by Tara Cardinal.
The film follows a young woman, portrayed by Devanny Pinn (15 Till Midnight, Piranha 3-D), who kills her abusive husband after being viciously raped when she finally gains courage enough to leave him.
Over time she finds that it is harder to move on with her life than she immediately thought and this yields horrific results for those closest to her.
The film is described as taking a very serious stance on sexual abuse, domestic violence and recovery - all under the guise of what the producers are referring to as a "psycho-thriller".
The film also stars Brandon Slagle (15 Till Midnight,...

You may recall a few months back we gave you guys the first word on Plaguers, a new sci-fi/horror hybrid from Death Factory director Brad Sykes. If you don’t, well then hit the “Plaguers” link above and get reading! We’ll wait…
All done? All right, then; this morning Sykes dropped us a line again with more updates, including the first look at the film’s poster, and a boatload of new stills that make up for the fact that, honestly, the poster’s not so great.
He also delivered the good news that Plaguers just got accepted into Spain’s Estepona Fantasy & Horror Film Festival, which is being hosted by Spanish legend Paul Naschy. The official Plaguers site is fully functioning now as well, so be sure to check it out when you’re not “working”.
