The sci-fi thriller Subservience explores the chaotic dangers of artificial intelligence and androids, and it counts on the talents of a well-known cast. Sci-fi, horror, and thriller have found a theme in common in recent years thanks to the rise of AI in different areas – and, of course, filmmakers have seized this topic to tell terrifying stories about the pros and cons of AI. Among them is Subservience, directed by S. K. Dale and written by Will Honley, which takes the audience to a near future where technology has advanced to the point of developing lifelike androids powered by AI.

Subservience focuses on Nick’s family after his wife, Maggie, is hospitalized due to an unspecified (but threatening) heart condition. Unable to manage the household on his own, Nick buys an AI android, which they refer to as “sim”, to help him around the house and with his kids while Maggie is in the hospital.

Saturday Night Live alum Victoria Jackson has revealed that doctors found an inoperable tumor in her windpipe amid her battle with cancer.

The actress-comedian confirmed on Wednesday in a new video for her “Is the Cancer Back?” Instagram series that her cancer had returned. She also estimated that she has roughly three years to live.

“[Doctors] cannot operate and cut out the marble in my chest that is laying on my windpipe, and eventually would suffocate me to death,” Jackson explained in the lengthy video.

As for her course of treatment, she said her healthcare providers were going to give her a “magic pill.” “It’s going to be delivered to my front door within the next 12 hours,” she added. “It’s based on Ribociclib, and it will shrink the marble, hopefully.” Ribociclib aims to slow or stop the growth of the cancer.

A place off Ocean Avenue is closer than you think, because Yellowcard have today announced 2023 tour dates celebrating the 20th anniversary of their fourth studio album Ocean Avenue.

The “Ocean Avenue” hitmakers will begin their North American trek July 5th at Baltimore’s Pier Six Pavilion. They’ll make stops in cities including New York, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle, and more — including a massive hometown show in Jacksonville — before the finale in Portland, Maine on August 18th. The Wild Life will open all shows on the tour, with Mayday Parade, Story of the Year, Anberlin and an Emo Night Brooklyn DJ set providing additional support on varying dates.

Update: Yellowcard have announced additional shows in Austin, Garden City, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Worcester, Hershey, Syracuse, and Portland. Tickets for these newly announced dates go on sale March 31st via Ticketmaster.

Four Chord Music Fest has revealed its 2023 lineup, featuring headliners Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, The Gaslight Anthem, The Interrupters, and Alkaline Trio. The two-day festival takes place in Western Pennsylvania’s Wild Things Park on August 12th and 13th.

Joining the aforementioned bands on the two-day bill are Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Waterparks, The Maine, Streetlight Manifesto, Face To Face, American Football, Magnolia Park, Mest, and several more acts.
