      Thanx Oscar Micheaux

I extremely disagree with the single black man's comment about all Oscar Micheaux did. First off, Oscar didn't just open a door for Paul Robeson, but Oscar was the first black filmmaker. He started his own film company, was the first to release an black made independent film to an all Caucasion audience, and he produced his first movie that grossed $5,000 called The Homesteader; he produced this first feature film for an all black audience. He made over 40 films which he produced, directed, and wrote. His work is also truly one to respect. He made films to uplift the black race and didn't portray those insulting and inane stereotypes you see on television in his films. So to the single black man in London and others reading this, Oscar broke huge barriers for later black filmmakers and fantastic black actors and actresses who are known today. One should never knock a person through his/her ignorance.

The 43 Year Old Oscar Micheaux

Unlike Stan Laurel, Cecil B. DeMille and Alfred Hitchcock, Oscar Micheaux was not maturing as a film-maker. In fact, the only credible thing that he's done up until now is give Paul Robeson his big break. Without a doubt, his films are not enjoyable, and you almost feel as though the chosen representative argument has been exhausted.
