- Since the accidental death of his parents, Hubertus von Saatlow has lived with his grandfather "Hupa" in a "flat share" that is deeply sympathetic. Unlike the old count, the young nobleman has come to the end of the adventurous 500-year history of his family. Hubertus plans his engagement to the fashion designer Veronika and hopes for a career in business. But his new job at the VMG Global group throws him off track. The head of the company, Walter Berentzen, is looking for a suitable property for a training center and sends Hubertus to Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. There, the last of those of Saatlow literally stumbles into his noble past. The picturesque Sandin Castle, situated on a lake, was expropriated after the end of the war - a traumatic experience for Hubertus' grandfather - and is now for sale. Although they can only come up with half the price from their own resources, the Saatlows decide to repossess Sandin. The matter is complicated by the fact that Hubertus is increasingly attracted to his beautiful, charmingly clumsy colleague Anne Berentzen. Unlike the sophisticated Veronika, Anne seems to share Hubertus' dream of a new beginning within the walls steeped in history, and is planning a modern recreation center on Sandin with him. But the young woman is not who she claims to be. And just when Hubertus thinks he has found love with his family roots, he loses everything.—TV5Monde Europe
