Mutant Swinger from Mars is a 2009 Science fiction comedy film written, produced and directed by Michael Kallio. A cross between Young Frankenstein, The Nutty Professor and all of Ed Wood's movies (with a SPLASH of This is Spinal Tap), the film pays homage to all things sci-fi, horror and comedy. The film features the acting debut of Jack White (pre-White Stripes and Cold Mountain) of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.

On the DVD/Blu-Ray, there is a version of the movie that includes characters from Count Ghastly's Cinema Crypt as they used this film to be the first feature in the pilot of Count Ghastly's show. On the DVD/Blu-Ray there is the option to watch the movie as if you are watching being aired on Count Ghastly's creature feature of the week type show with him as the host (and various characters) doing skits and funny bits with his team between breaks in the movie.

Bed parody

This movie commits the cardinal sin of parody: It isn't funny. Yes, it has the characters speaking lines from classic '50's sci fi flicks. I think I caught most of them but maybe you could play a drinking game where contestants had to name the movie and character for each quote. Yes I know that the cheap and obvious not-so-special effects were deliberate. And maybe cute for a minute or two. But come on. Over and over? The only way I can explain the 5.5 star rating above is that the cast, their family, and any close friends must have stuffed the ballot box. The concept has been done again and again, mostly better. Take a hard pass.
