The burden of tradition is still very strong

In the traditional Confucian teaching that lasted for thousands of years in China, marriage is arranged by the parents and this tradition is still dominant in China despite the attempt to neutralize it in the post revolutionary era China. Although the story itself is a fake, similar stories do happen quite frequently in real life.
