The film The Prince is a cinematic work belonging to the romantic and action thriller genres, directed by Suresh Krishna.
The narrative revolves around the rivalry between two gangsters, Vishwanathan and Rajashekharan. The sons of both men also became involved in the rivalry. The film's protagonist is Jeeva, Vishwanathan's younger son. He assumed responsibility for his father's business affairs. He developed a romantic interest in a local woman named Swarna. They subsequently married. However, she was unaware of his criminal background. He concealed this information from her. The rivalry persisted, resulting in Rajashekharan's death at Vishwanathan's hands. Subsequently, Swarna became aware of his criminal background. She then attempted to persuade him and his family to cease all criminal activities. She was ultimately successful in this endeavour.
The film's narrative is of an average quality, and the performances are commendable. However, it is notable that Mohanlal's usual natural acting style is absent. Additionally, the direction of the film is marred by numerous incongruous scenes. On a positive note, all of the songs are commendable and the film is a worthwhile only for single viewing.
