Next month, Barry Allen from The Flash will crossover to visit Supergirl on CBS. Last night, the girl of steal was briefly seen on The CW series -- as were several others from the DC Comics universe multiverse.
In the episode "Welcome to Earth-2", Barry, Cisco, and Harrison Wells travel to an alternate reality using the speed canon. Before they get there, they pass characters that comics fans will recognize -- including Supergirl and The Flash from the 1990s CBS series. The latter was played by John Wesley Shipp who plays Barry's father, Henry, on the current series.
Eagle-eyed viewers could also pick out images of Grodd the gorilla, cowboy Jonah Hex (likely Johnathon Schaech from the upcoming 11th episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow), a Legion of Super-Heroes flight ring (perhaps the characters will appear in a future episode of...

With Captain America, Iron Man and Thor all finding huge success with their own solo outings, Marvel Studios have now set their sights on establishing another new franchise!
That will be James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a movie which will open up the world of The Avengers to outer space after Thanos was first teased when Loki borrowed his Chitauri army back in 2012′s Avengers Assemble. Fans believe that this will lead to some sort of huge Avengers/Guardians crossover when the iconic villain finally attacks our planet in the next outing for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
The poster highlights each of the main team members, while the stills once again put the spotlight on Jurassic World star Chris Pratt as Star-Lord.
Meanwhile, Marvel have also confirmed that a new trailer for the movie will debut this Monday. As always, stay tuned to HeyUGuys as we’ll have it for you right here.

We’ve met the Guardians of the Galaxy in five new featurettes, and now Marvel have finally released the first poster for the James Gunn helmed movie. Sensibly, they’ve made a point of highlighting the fact that this adaptation is being brought to us from the same people who delivered hits like Iron Man and The Avengers!
Talking of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, fans were disappointed that the poster for that movie was a pretty poorly put together Photoshop job. Thankfully, Marvel seem to have learnt from their mistake by delivering a rather brilliant group shot of Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon.
The fact that the tagline for this release is “You’re Welcome” might just tell us all we need to know about the tone! To check out our breakdown of the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, be sure to click here.

Kirkman's World You may not know his name or recognize his bushy beard, but Robert Kirkman has become one of the hottest names in Hollywood thanks to the popularity of his AMC series The Walking Dead, which is based on his indie comic phenomena. With the series capturing the coveted males 18-48 demographic and managing to beat NFL games and Olympics coverage, it was only a matter of time before movie offers would come his way. According to THR, that time is now, as Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to Air, a new sci-fi thriller that Kirkman is producing. The movie follows two custodians working in a cryogenic facility after a nuclear war. The custodians will be played by Walking Dead star Norman Reedus and Djimon Housoun.

Photo: Screen Actors Guild Tonight the Screen Actors Guild awarded the acting world for their 2009 contributions with the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards and Inglourious Basterds was the big winner of the night taking home the prized Best Ensemble as well as chalked up another win for Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor. The biggest surprise and only category that was really up in the air, however, was Best Actress. The question was whether the award would land in the arms of Meryl Streep or Sandra Bullock and to my personal surprise Bullock went home the recipient which means her chances of winning the Oscar have now sky rocketed.
There were no other surprises as Jeff Bridges won Best Actor for Crazy Heart and Mo'Nique won Best Supporting Actress for Precious. Bridges, Mo'Nique and Waltz have pretty much already assured themselves of an Oscar win, but that Best Actress category still remains something of a mystery.

Yesterday, Summit Entertainment (the folks behind Twilight) announced plans to adapt the 2009 feature film Push into a television series. Summit will be pairing with E1 Entertainment on the production and David Hayter, the screenwriter behind Watchmen, The Scorpion King, X-Men, and X2, is writing the pilot episode of the series.
According to the official press release, “The television series will be an extension of the film, a science fiction thriller, centered on people with paranormal powers who band together to take down a corrupt government agency.” The movie featured Chris Evans, Djimon Honsou, Camilla Belle, and Dakota Fanning.
If you’ll recall, Push didn’t receive very good reviews (Screen Rant head honcho Vic Holtreman gave it two out of five stars) nor was it a very big hit at the box office, earning only $48 million worldwide (on a $38 million production budget, who knows on the marketing expenses). In the absence of a live-action X-Men series and with the lacklustre Heroes struggling to stay afloat, another set of superpowered humans are on their way to the small screen.
Summit Entertainment - whose releases include the Twilight films and sci-fi thriller Knowing - is to partner with E1 Entertainment to develop and produce a TV series based on the 2009 movie Push.
Push, directed for Summit by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin), starred Fantastic Four's Chris Evans alongside Dakota Fanning, Djimon Hounsou and Camilla Belle. It centred on people with paranormal powers who joined forces to take down a corrupt government agency.
The film cost $38million and was, I thought, a reasonable and realistic stab at the superhuman genre. But it didn't find much love with critics or the box office, making only $49million worldwide. You can read my review of Push here.

For all of you fed up with how off-course Heroes has gotten since its innovative first season, you may have a new group of ordinary people with extraordinary abilities to watch every week. Summit Entertainment has optioned last year’s inventive superhero flick Push, starring Dakota Fanning and Chris Evans as superhuman citizens on the run from Djimon Hounsou and his evil government organization of superhuman hunters known as Division. Screenwriter David Hayter, who is no stranger to the comic book genre with credits like Watchmen, X-men and X2 to his name, is currently working on a pilot episode that will occur within the film’s universe.

Summit Entertainment and E1 Entertainment are developing a TV series based on Push, the science fiction mess released by Summit in February 2009. David Hayter will write the pilot and executive produce, according to the studio press release.
A series comes as a surprise because the movie made only $31.8 million (domestic) for Summit on a budget of $38 million. Not exactly a success or the type of property with a built-in fan base.
For those who skipped it, the movie stars Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans, Camilla Belle, and Djimon Hounsou. It was basically the worst parts of NBC’s “Heroes” stretched to feature length where a hodgepodge of mutants chased each other in circles. Characters were either “pushers” capable of implanting thoughts, emotions, or memories into the human mind, “sniffers” with a heightened sense of smell, “movers” rearranging objects with telekinetic powers, “bleeders” shrieking loud enough to explode your brains, or some other poorly conceived super power.

The precursors have been squeezed into an unusually small period this year. The Globes, Bfca, Nyfcc, Lafca and SAG all announced in the space of one week. That's not business as usual. I guess this is one way to squeeze out all those regional critics groups because... who will care now? What does all this mean for Oscar? Generally clear consensus between the major precursors means that Oscar will be nearly a carbon copy. But with an unusual amount of time between the actors announcement and the announcement of Oscar nominations (Still more than a month away) it Might mean that Academy voters react to and against these lists, rather than along with them if you know what I mean. Do you know what I mean?

Photo: Screen Actors Guild Nominations for the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced this morning just two days after the 2010 Golden Globe Nominations giving us plenty to chew on heading into the weekend. As for surprises I can say there are really only a couple.
First off, one nod that's not really a surprise is the one that went to Jeremy Renner for The Hurt Locker, most likely edging out Daniel Day-Lewis for Nine. Considering we are talking about actors nominating actors this seems about right. However, Diane Kruger getting a nomination for her performance in Inglourious Basterds is a bit of a surprise, especially as she's beating out her co-star in that film Melanie Laurent, not to forget Marion Cotillard in Nine, both performances I believe are more deserving. Don't expect Oscar to follow suit with that choice.
The other nominations causing me to scratch my head...

[Update: Marvel was kind enough to provide additional information about their animated projects.]
The Marvel Animation Group panel at this year’s New York City Comic Con was a rally for support– Cort Lane, director of development for Marvel Animation repeatedly asked for fans to $upport Marvel Animated projects, so that the company could continue to grow and provide fans with animated shows and features they want to see.
Reading between the lines I got somewhat of an impression that this is an important juncture for Marvel Animation. Personally, I’ve always been more of a DC Animation fan, though this panel did give me one or two reasons to consider making a switch.
Wolverine And The X-men
Wolverine and the X-Men was the first show covered on the panel. The show has been NickToons’ biggest premiere ever, increasing the channel’s viewership by 808% with its first episode and 1055% with the second. Not a bad start. A trailer of upcoming episodes was screened for fans,...

Short version: Push has an interesting premise, but it just doesn’t manage to translate it into a great movie.
Screen Rant reviews Push
I really thought I was going to enjoy Push more than I did. But much like the God-awful Jumper, Push has an interesting premise that it just can’t translate into a great movie.
Just like Jumper, Push has an extensive backstory… While the former film established it via an in-depth document sent out to movie sites cataloging the history of the good guys and the bad guys, this film did it with a comic book mini-series. Having read four of the issues (which I found pretty intriguing) I had hoped that I would find the film more meaningful through understanding the deep background of “Division.”
Sadly, that didn’t turn out to be the case.

Summit Entertainment provided Coming Soon with two TV spots and a scene from the upcoming movie, Push. The longer video, a two-and-a-half minute action scene from the film, extends and ties together many of the shots we saw the from the trailers for the movie and it looks great.
While I like what I’m seeing enough to see it, my big worry is that there aren’t many other cool action sequences in the film that they haven’t shown us and that would be highly disappointing (that’s what happened with Iron Man). The plot feels like some weak story arc from Heroes, but the action sequences sell me and I hope there’s enough of that to make the movie a good overall experience.

Through online voting, it is found out that viewers favor "House M.D." and its leading star Hugh Laurie. The Fox production was announced as Favorite TV Drama at the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards, beating down "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Grey's Anatomy". Laurie aka Dr. House meanwhile, triumphs over Charlie Sheen in "Two and a Half Men" and Patrick Dempsey in "Grey's".
Another notable winner is Ellen DeGeneres who via her daytime show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", won Favorite Talk Show Host. Receiving the award, Ellen said during the acceptance speech, "I wish I could share this with you. I could throw it on the ground and smash it into a million pieces, and give each one of you a little piece of it, but that's violent, and that's probably why you voted for me, because I'm not violent."
"Dancing with the Stars" was voted as Favorite Reality Show...

Today we have a sweet little flash webpage courtesy of Superherohype.com which lists and details all of the powers of the upcoming Push action film.
It’s pretty cool as it details plenty of information about new powers that were not shown in the trailer and it gets me a little more excited to see this movie. You can see it by clicking on the link a bit further down the page.
You’ll notice that the very first power listed in the top left is that of pusher which when clicked, shows and describes the power of that lady from the trailer which the plot of the movie seems to revolve around. The site reveals the name of that character to be Kira Hudson.
I’m guessing the title of the film relates directly to that specific power and character. The website describes a “pusher” as one who...

A new poster has been released for the new sci-fi/action-thriller film Push. The film stars Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camilla Belle and Djimon Hounsou. Check out the poster below (click for larger view):
In case any of you don’t know what the film is about here is the synopsis and the trailer:
“The action packed sci-fi thriller involves a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities, hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.”
[See post to watch Flash video] This looks pretty similar to the TV show Heroes. People with special abilities trying to evade an organization which is after them. The first season of the TV series anyway is partly about that very same thing so to me this is practically theft. But who knows perhaps it’s...

Perhaps it has something to do with a really bad run of action movies between Quantum of Solace and Watchmen, but I think Push has some potential. It's kind of a cross between Heroes and Jumper, I guess, with a team of clairvoyants and other similarly touched outcasts hiding from a government agency that is out to control and exploit their powers.
Good cast - Dakota Fanning, Djimon Hounsou, Camilla Belle, Chris Evans - and it's directed by Paul McGuigan, who was behind the camera for Lucky Number Slevin.
IGN has some new photos from Push, some of which we're presenting to you here. Click to enlarge them into much, much bigger shots (which might be of interest if you're a Camilla Belle fan), and check IGN for about half a dozen more.

I'll admit it - I stopped watching "Heroes." I hate to be a quitter and all but I put up with Season 2 and Season 3 was getting to be more than I can handle. It's insanely frustrating because I still love the concept of seemingly regular people with super powers. So instead of "Heroes," I've moved onto Push, the upcoming action flick starring Chris Evans, Camilla Belle, Dakota Fanning and Djimon Hounsou. Or maybe I'm just excited to hear Dakota Fanning say...

A group of people that have special abilities but have to hide them due to a mysterious organization that is trying to hunt them down? The plot of the movie Push sounds a lot like the plot of Heroes. But watch the movie's new international trailer here and find out what the benefits of not being on network television are: more violence, more guns, more action. It's like Heroes only shorter and hopefully better than the most recent season. It seems that Cris Evans has finally snagged a role in which he actually looks a little badass instead of parading around like a wannabe. Dakota Fanning show up as an angsty tweens with special abilities and Djimon Hounsou burns up the screen as super bad guy. Be warned, Dakota Fanning is almost all the way grown up. It is a little disorienting. Let's just hope she does not kiss anyone...

Maybe it wasn't playing where you saw Twilight over the weekend, but I got to see the trailer for Push on the big screen the other night, and it's much better in that format than on my ancient computer monitor. It's about a bunch of young people with incredible abilities - telekinesis, psychic powers, etc. - and yes, I realize that sounds a bit like Heroes.
In Push, the heroes are hiding out from a government agency called Division that wants to tap their powers for good (or maybe evil), and the cast features Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans, Camilla Belle, and Djimon Hounsou, who's the Division agent trying to corral the freaks and geeks.
There's a new Push prequel, available only as a new comic from Wildstorm Entertainment. I love this idea, though. Obviously, they're tapping into a fanbase they'd need to make the film successful, they're providing backstory for the film,...

We haven’t heard anything about the upcoming superhero-type movie Push since Comic-Con. Last July they previewed Push the movie and it looked pretty cool. This week a new trailer was unveiled and I don’t want to influence you, but I think it looks pretty damned cool.
With all he debate raging regarding whether this season’s Heroes is good or not, I’ll be curious to hear what your thoughts are on this trailer. To me it looks like they took a pretty similar concept and turned it into a feature film.
It stars Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans (who played the Human Torch in Fantastic Four), Camilla Belle, and Djimon Hounsou.
Check it out for yourself:

I’d provide a link to the official site for the movie, but they don’t even have a “coming soon” page for it...

The film stars Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans, Camille Belle and Djimon Hounsou, Push envisions a world full of artificially enhanced paranormal operatives. I don't care if it sounds like half of X-Men and it looks like two-thirds of Heroes: This new action flick Push is now officially on my radar in a big way. The guys over at Empire are pretty psyched about it as well, and they remind us that director Paul McGuigan was in attendance at San Diego Comic Con to share some very nifty footage.
As far as the plot goes, it seems to go like this: A group of normal people with some very special powers are being tracked down by an agency full of other people with very special powers. Only evil. But while Push does indeed sound a lot like Heroes, this new trailer indicates that it also looks like a lot of fun. Dakota Fanning was at Comic Con this year promoting a movie called Push, and no one really seemed to have a clear idea of what it was or why anyone at Comic Con would be interested in a movie starring Dakota Fanning. Well here's why: It's a superhero movie. The first trailer for Push has arrived online over at Apple, and it looks surprisingly good. Dakota Fanning is teamed up with Chris Evans. He has the power to move things with his mind, she has the power to foretell the future. Together, they're out to take down some sort of secret organization of super powered people run by Djimon Honsou, and prevent their own deaths. It's a lot like Heroes, if anything interesting ever happened on Heroes... which it doesn't. Watch the trailer below, or in high-res over at Apple.
