The movie's score uses a melody of Yeni Turku (a Turkish folk-pop group) which was forbidden by military junta, but the production uses several tones to circumvent the army censor board.
During the production the movie was initially called "Ebe" (The Midwife). However before the theatrical release the title was altered to its final name "Derman" (The Cure).
