While Halsey is happy for her American Music Awards nomination, she's taking note of the fact that she's one of the only women who got one.
The largest fan-voted awards show unveiled its 2017 nominee list on Thursday, which was led by Bruno Mars with eight nominations, and followed by a four-way tie for second place, with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran and The Chainsmokers getting five nods each.
However, what got the attention of many on social media, including singer Halsey -- who was nominated with The Chainsmokers for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Song -- is the large gender gap present on the nominees list. Apart from the categories specifically designated for female artists in fact, the overwhelming majority of the categories have no female nominees at all. Additionally, every act nominated for Artist of the Year is a man.

Hindi films are known for their romance and it is one of the reasons so many people fall in love with the heroes, the heroines and the films! We asked our writers to tell us what moments in Bollywood define love or romance to them, be it a song, a line, a look, or anything that makes you sigh thinking that is Love! So for Valentine’s Day we present what we think is Romance Bollyishstyle!
The One with the Tune and the Recording
We could not pick just one scene from the great Dil Toh Pagal Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. However, the two that stand out for our writers are:
That moment when Madhuri and Shah Rukh are in adjoining changing rooms in a clothing store, and Madhuri hears him whistle a tune. She later hears it again and knows it was meant to be!

Review Mark Harrison 19 Sep 2013 - 11:16
The Newsroom concludes its uneven second season with a happy ending. Here's Mark's review of Election Night Part 2...
This review contains spoilers
2.9 Election Night Part Two
“Except for the things we did wrong, we did everything right.”
The Newsroom’s bumpy second season reaches a close with Election Night Part II, an episode that reconnects with many of the core elements that started off the show and finally absolves itself of the Operation Genoa storyline.
As discussed last week, the title has very little to do with the main thrust of the action. The 2012 presidential election was not exactly a tense race, and Aaron Sorkin’s script only occasionally pays lip service to delusional supporters at Romney HQ who thought otherwise. Once again, this is about the News Night team.
When we left them, things looked set to go to hell this week. Charlie...

She hails from a musical dynasty family and says that she feels she was always meant to be a singer. Her first big break was at age 12 when she sang for the Ost of Mohabbatein and from then on she has worked with some of the best music directors both in the Hindi and South film industries. Not only recording for the films as a playback singer, she is also the lead singer on Ar Rahman’s world tour. We are talking about the fabulous Shweta Pandit. She has been the voice on some hit tunes and most recently you have heard her wonderful vocals on the Mere Brother Ki Dulhan soundtrack on both ‘Madhubala’ and ‘Do Dhaari Talwaar’ and ‘Thug Le’ from Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Stacey got the exciting opportunity to quiz her on many different aspects about being a singer in the film industry and boy did...
