The last production to feature Heinz Erhardt before his death on the 5th June 1979. Erhardt lost his voice due to a stroke in December 1971 and was not able to perform anymore. However he kept working on the production based on an opera he wrote in 1936/37 in Riga. The voice heard in the movie is Erhardt's real voice that was taken from older radio recordings.
