    Swinging London and Its Soundtrack

A short documentary on the early years of Rock band Pink Floyd taken from the film "Tonite Let's All Make Love in London", "Pink Floyd: London 1966-1967" is a fascinating glimpse into the cultural capital of the world in its time and one of the stellar musical lights that rocked it. Featuring footage of the band jamming in the studio and scenes from the UFO Club and Alexandra Palace in London from 1966-1967 the film is a visual and audible kaleidoscope of vivid colors and varied sounds showcasing the dancing "freaks" in the audience and the Floyd performing onstage. The film is an interesting fly on the wall view of the great band in action particularly the now mythical Syd Barrett. The group's lengthy instrumental excursions into the cosmos are listenable but they're no Allman Brothers or Grand Funk Railroad so the musical experience can be of the tedious persuasion. But the history alone overcomes any shortcomings. Priceless and historical this is a time capsule captured for the ages.
