Written by Anirudh Tiwari, this film was actually filmed in 1994, but not released until 9 April 2004 apparently. It was an incomplete film that stopped shooting in 1994 but was revived with different actors in 2004 instead of the lead actors Khan and Tandon who refused to even dub for their parts. The trade experts said the film was just being released for the sake of making a quick buck. This film was a box office disaster.
Film producer Lalchand Nayyar of Vishva Light and Sound Limited has filed a suit against superstar Shah Rukh Khan. He alleges he was cheated by the actor.Nayyar claims he signed Khan for Rs 80 lakhs (Rs 0.8 million) to play the lead in Jadu - The Magic Of Love in 1992. The producer says he has failed to honour the contract and has still not completed the film.Says Nayyar, "My film is only 50 per cent complete. I kept asking Shah Rukh for the dates. But, each time, he bullied me. He kept promising that he complete the film. But, after he became a superstar, he refused to stick by his word. I was left with no option but to move the court."The film was being directed by Pavan Kaul and the producer claims to have spent over Rs 6 million on the shooting alone which he says began before the filming of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.Nayyar adds that Raveena Tandon, who plays the female lead, is "still willing to shoot for the film." But it is believed that Raveena has agreed to complete the film only if Shah Rukh returns."Shah Rukh signed a contract. He was to have completed my film under any circumstances. He should be charged under sections 420, 418 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code," says Nayyar.Nayyar filed his complaint on October 10, 2001 at a court in Ahmednagar, which is where the registered office of his firm is located. The case is due for hearing on October 24. A copy of the suit has also been sent to the Bandra police station in Bombay.Shah Rukh Khan, who leaves for the United Kingdom in a couple of days to promote his upcoming magnum opus Asoka, refused to comment on the matter when approached. He said he didnt want to comment on the matter.
This film was originally called Jaadu in 1993. Shah Rukh Khan and Raveena Tandon had shot 10-12 reels of this film, but because of a kissing scene which the lead couple refused doing, they both had quit the film and the film was shelved. A audio cassette company decided to play a a very bad scam on the public. They released a album with the poster the movie Jaadu .But inside the cassette were songs from the Chunky Pandey movie "Gopalla". Many people bought the album thinking they were songs of the original movie. In 2003, the producers had decided a few non actors to fill in the blanks in the second half and the footage of Shahrukh Khan and Raveena Tandon was used in the film but the voices were dubbed over. Shahrukh Khan had shot two songs for this film as well.
No one dubbed for the film as the actors in the film disassociated themselves.
2 songs have tunes from Tum Bin, Because Nikhil-Vinay had actually composed those tunes for the film but after it got shelved they used it in Tum Bin.
