Love is in the air on Netflix in February, from new romcoms like the Reese Witherspoon-starring “Your Place or Mine” to the return of murderous stalker Joe Goldberg in “You” Season 2 part 1.
Penn Badgley has long dispelled any misnomers of his “You” character being a romantic, but Joe himself still believes that’s who he is at his core. After killing his wife and faking his own death, Joe sets off for Europe so he can find Marianne (Tati Gabrielle), the woman he convinced himself he’s in love with before she learned the truth and fled. But breaking old habits has never been easy for old Joe, who quickly gets caught up in a most dubious clique of London high society that has its own struggles with lust, power, and the occasionally fatal crime.
Here’s everything coming to Netflix in February 2023.

Morena Films puts 3 projects on its slate
MADRID -- Madrid-based production house Morena Films said Monday it has added to its slate a thriller starring Victoria Abril, a Sideways-style road picture and a romantic comedy directed by Chus Gutierrez. The thriller, Expain, will be directed by Xavi Rivera and tells of two women and their unusual trip along Spain's Mediterranean coast. The film will shoot on location in Madrid and England at the end of the year. The road movie Blinkers is a co-production between Morena and Spanish commercial network Telecinco's production wing Estudios Picasso and will be directed by Alvaro Fernandez Armero. The film revolves around two professional soccer referees suffering a midlife crisis. Shooting is expected to begin in August. The project is budgeted at 3 million ($3.6 million) with cast to be decided. Gutierrez will direct the romantic comedy Trust Me, about a man who falls in love with a Colombian woman the night before he is to marry someone else. The co-production with Colombian producer Tucan has been picked up by Spanish pubcaster TVE. Trust Me will use a Spanish and Colombian cast, capitalizing on the fervor in Spain surrounding the Colombian stars of telenovela Pasion de Los Gavilanes. The film's budget is set at 2.5 million ($3 million) with shooting in Barcelona to begin in the summer. Additionally, Morena is in postproduction on Arturo Ripstein's Sadoma's Carnival, a co-production with Miguel Mecoichea, and is shopping around for an A-list director for its Brazilian beat music project Fusion, which Spike Lee backed out of.

Mexican soaps sell big in Spain
MADRID -- After years of being looked down on as cheap daytime filler imported from the former colonies, Latin American soaps are capturing the attention of Spanish TV audiences young and old in huge numbers. Commercial network Antena 3's telenovela Pasion de Gavilanes, produced by Colombia's RTI, Caracol and Telemundo, is spearheading the new trend in Spanish daytime television, topping the daytime ratings. To help marketers and broadcasters try to figure out the reasons for the telenovela's sudden success in Spain, and to some extent in other European countries, the two-day 3rd World Summit for Telenovelas and Fiction opened here Thursday.
