"Daleko od szosy" (Far from the road) is one of my favorite TV series ever, and sometimes I go to the individual episodes to refresh my memories of the 1970s. The author of the idea for the series' plot was Henryk Czarnecki, who was inspired to create the story by an essay one of his students wrote at school. The series deals with the subject of migration from the countryside to the city and social advancement. The plot takes place in the 1960s and early 1970s in Poland. The main character of the TV series "Far from the road", a young country boy, Leszek (Krzysztof Stroinski), for whom love becomes the inspiration to make difficult and unconventional life decisions, won the audience's sincere sympathy. I liked "Far from the road" so much, among other things, because I myself come from a rural environment, although in our family migration lasted for two generations, and I am already the second generation. The plot of the series touched on almost every social class in Poland in the 1970s and united those classes. I remember how in the 1970s, when the series was broadcast, the streets in the cities were almost empty.
