The film was shot in an abandoned Catholic school in downtown Detroit. Minimal set dressing was used to give the film its apocalyptic look.
The prison bus cost 250 dollars and had to be towed to the location because it didn't run.
The film's original title was "The Omegan."
The empty street scenes were shot at 7:00 a.m. in the morning on a Sunday.
