Gurinder Chadha and her mother made all the mango and carrot pickles seen at the spice store.

Director Paul Mayeda Berges cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the role of Tilo while she was working on Bride & Prejudice (2004). He gave her the script to read and was interested in the part of Tilo, and so Paul cast her.

The motorcycle used in the film is a 2004 790cc Triumph (Hinckley) Bonneville.

Jill Hollon was originally cast for this role but had to step down due to scheduling conflicts
