In Netflix’s “Icarus,” director Bryan Fogel documented Dr. Grigory Rodchenko, the chemist who said he helped the Russian government execute a doping scheme at the 2014 Winter Olympics, then turned whistleblower after meeting Fogel. Now, Rodchenko has supplied diaries to the International Olympic Committee that may determine whether Russia may compete at the 2018 Games.
The New York Times has seen the journals, two hardback volumes that cover 2014 and 2015. On December 5, the I.O.C.’s Disciplinary Commission will announce its decision, and according to a document it published this week, Rodchenko’s entries have been deemed authentic and unaltered, meriting consideration “as a significant evidential element.”

Gremlins is a fine representation of a classic 80s movie, however the sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch was nowhere near the quality or fun of the original. It is almost like the producers somehow managed to feed the first film after midnight, and just like with a mogwai, things got out of control. While speaking with SlashFilm about a film he produced, Patti Cake$, the writer who penned the original script, Chris Columbus, mentioned that talks for a third Gremlins movie are heating up, and that he has a finished script.

What would Patsy Cline think about getting her own Nashville museum more than six decades after her death?
“You know, no pun intended – and not to use a word lightly – but I think she’d say, ‘This is crazy,’” says her 58-year-old daughter, Julie Fudge.
And no wonder: Despite Cline’s mythic stature as one of the 20th century’s greatest voices, few fans today know that the “Crazy” singer was simply an equal among a bevy of country notables at the time she was killed, at age 30, in a private plane crash in 1963. Since then, the sheer power of...

Moonlight After Midnight Written by Martin Dockery Dramaturgy by Vanessa Quesnelle The Kraine Theater, NYC April 10, 17, 24 and 30, 2015
A wooden chair, really the only prop onstage in Martin Dockery’s Moonlight After Midnight, is also the only thing in this mind-bending play that actually remains what it seems from the first. A woman (Vanessa Quesnelle) walks into the hotel room of a man (Martin Dockery). After a tense exchange that suggests that they know and love each other, the lights are turned up, and the woman claims that she has been sent by the "service" that she works for. The man denies that he made the call. She says the caller wanted her to roleplay his wife. He says not to mention his wife. He does, however, acquiesce to her demand that he pay her for her time in any case, paving the way for an encounter during which we never learn either of their names,...

What Happens in New York After Midnight? Jerry Seinfeld, Ann Magnuson, and More Share Their Memories
In the course of gathering material for our After Midnight issue, we realized we had a problem — too many people had too many good New York stories. This is not usually an issue, but it broke our hearts when some of our favorite anecdotes had to be cut down or lost altogether. Too many muggings, street fights, and stabbings. Too many whimsical or magical moments where people went to sleep in a fountain, threw snowballs in a restaurant, or went dancing on top of a fire engine. Too many stolen kisses, celebrity hookups, and whipped-cream orgies. (Well, you can never have too many of those.) Below and in our iPad edition, we share some of the outtakes. “Taking a Taxi,” by Jerry Seinfeld I don't go out that late anymore. I miss the days when we actually felt safe in New York City cabs. When we thought, I don't need...

By the time you read this, we’ll have a much better idea of whether the snow predictions for Winter Storm Juno in the Northeast were accurate, but starting on Sunday with a tweet from the Bowery Boys, I had already started seeing people wondering if this would be a historic blizzard like the Great Blizzard of 1888 (or the apparently lesser-known but just as terrifyingly fascinating Children’s Blizzard of 1888).

I didn’t really remember it as its own thing, but something was there. It took me a few minutes of cogitation, but I finally recalled Voices After Midnight by Richard Peck, a children’s or young adult book I read when I was nine or ten,...

Thousands of people rallied late Monday in U.S. cities including Los Angeles and New York to passionately but peacefully protest a grand jury's decision not to indict a white police officer who killed a black 18-year-old in Ferguson, Missouri. They led marches, waved signs and shouted chants of "hands up, don't shoot," the refrain that has become a rallying cry in protests over police killings across the country. The most disruptive demonstrations were in St. Louis and Oakland, California, where protesters flooded the lanes of freeways, milling about stopped cars with their hands raised in the air. Activists had...

Forget Rayna and Deacon: Nashville‘s new power couple is Rayna and Sadie.
They’ve got no angst. No trauma. No drunken arguments, throwing of rings or hate-banging of backup singers — just two fun ladies, acting sassy toward the paparazzi and singing a duet on stage in front of thousands of people.
Y’know, like my best girlfriends and I do on the average Friday night.
In fact, why not ditch all of the dudes in Music City — at least temporarily — so we can watch these two hot mamas be awesome and make music and have shiny hair. Hell, move Sadie and sad,...

While Miss America hasn’t bred any headline-stealing celebrities recently, beauty pageants were once a place where future stars got their start. Oprah was Miss Black Tennessee; Halle Berry was Miss Ohio. Vanessa Williams made it all the way to the top, nabbing the Miss America title in 1984.
With Miss America’s 88th annual pageant airing Sunday on ABC at 9 p.m. Et, EW took a look at the most famous Oscar winners and television icons who once won crowns and sashes:

We’re proud to present the first look at these fine new character posters for Yann Gonzalez’s You and the Night (renamed from the French Les Rencontres d’après minuit – which, when translated, becomes the slightly more provocative Encounters After Midnight) and very lovely they look too.
Provocative is the mot du jour as Gonzalez’s tale centres around an orgy with a cast of curious characters which include Eric Cantona as The Stud and Beatrice Dalle as Commissioner. Yes – it’s a must-see.
Further details on the film’s release are below so take a moment to see the posters in all their glory – as always click it and it’ll become big before your eyes.
You And The Night is released by Peccadillo Pictures. Early previews at Greenwich Picturehouse (22nd Sept) & Hackney Picturehouse (25th Sept) followed by theatrical release on 3rd October.

Mad Men star Jon Hamm is looking to join the remake of the 1964 Don Knotts film, The Incredible Mr. Limpet. Other actors in talks to come on board include Kevin Hart, Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman, Josh Gad, and comedy duo Key & Peele. If cast they will join Zach Galifianakis.
The movie is being directed by Richard Linklater (Boyhood, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, After Midnight) from a script based on the novel by Theodore Pratt. Warner Bros. has been trying to get this movie made for the last 20 years, and it looks like it's finally coming together.
The original story followed "an everyman who is transformed into a fish and goes on to fight Nazis." In this new version, Galifianakis is expected to play Larry Limpet, "a bearded beach bum trying to save the fish population. Broadway producers love the Tony Awards because it gives a rare national platform for their shows, typically boosting ticket sales for musicals that make the most of their televised production number. And what lucky show got the biggest boost from the June 8 broadcast? Surprise! It wasn’t a musical but the Lbj bio-drama All the Way, which won Best Play and Best Actor for Bryan Cranston (above).
