For English translations, the main character's name was changed to "Wowser", a play on a stereotypical dog's name. For Dutch translation, he was named "Dommel", playing on the Dutch word for 'dumb'.
The Series Was Broadcast In The UK On CITV In The Late 1980s Until The Early 1990s And Then Was Repeated Regularly On Channel 4 From 1993 Until 1996
This was the first animated series developed by then-new animation studio "J.C.Staff", which had been established in 1986. The studio went on to develop better known series, such as "Revolutionary Girl Utena", "Azumanga Daioh" , and "The Familiar of Zero".
