All these old Punjabi movies are very long and feel like a daily soap.
Edit: Just noticed it is 2004 film but it feels wayyyyyyy old than that.

This movie was filmed in our village, and alot of hardwork was put in behind screen. I have seen how they were investing on everything. Manmohan singh, director, has worked with yash chopra ji as a cinematographer in the movies like DDLJ and Darr. In this movie Ghuggi played best role of his career. I would say this movie was far better than today's useless comedy movies. We should appreciate Harbhajan mann for his contribution to Punjabi cinema. The movie has all the elements; Story, comedy, music and everything is best from technical aspects also. I wish we'd see more movies like this in punjabi cinema.
One of my all time favorite movies, I have seen this movie more than 8-10 times and still I never get bored of watching it.
Huge respect and very thankful of Harbhajan Mann saab for reviving the dying Panjabi industry. His movies have realistic stories, family values, Panjabi culture, comedy, emotions, overall, a complete package.
First half shows the life in Canada and mindset (pov) of some Panjabi people living there, and how some people are still connected to their roots and how some prefer to be more Canadian just to be one of the people there.
Second half shows the life in Panjab, the conversation between the elder people of the Pind puts the truth out of how the young generations gets impacted by looking at the big and beautiful Kotthi (s) of the abroad-living Panjabi's and other issues.
This film and his other films are far better than the repeated/similar stories and comedy in movies today. I love watching new Panjabi films a lot, but if I have to compare current movies with these, then Maan Saab's movies a far better.
OVERALL, THIS FILM (including Harbhajan Mann saab's other films) IS A MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST WATCH FOR EVERYONE.
