Appearing on The Daily Show earlier this week, Bill Cosby gently took Jon Stewart to task for his liberal use of four-letter words at the Stand Up for Heroes event they'd both just entertained. "It wasn't cursing – it was Yiddish!" joked Stewart, who took his scolding in stride, clearly in awe of the elder comedian. In his later years, Cosby, 76, has cast himself as something of a national scold, as he did in his famously rambling "Pound Cake" speech to the NAACP (which prompted a book-length reply from the commentator Michael Eric Dyson,...

Legendary comedian Bill Cosby appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night and, well, did pretty much whatever he wanted to. After walking out only to immediately sit down next to an audience member and treat him as if he were Fallon (above), he scolded Fallon for buying a used paperback — not the hardcover edition — of his 1986 book “Fatherhood,” then decided to do audition The Roots to play at his funeral, scolded the audience full of “phonies” for pretending to care about his inevitable passing, and proceeded to carry out the rest of the interview...

Like a slice of soft-ripened brie, cultural icon Bill Cosby’s exterior has gradually toughened, becoming more distinctive and sharp with age. Some fans have welcomed the comedian-turned-activist’s dried, crumbly rind while others prefer the softer, quintessential family man of old.
In his 1987 bestselling book “Fatherhood,” Cosby wrote, “I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.”
Whatever one’s personal Cosby taste, one thing is certain. Bill Cosby has never been one to cater to conventional palates. His material has ranged from the dramatic, as seen in his 1960s Emmy-award winning series “I Spy,” to the revolutionary “Cosby Show." But the family unit has remained the center of Cosby’s material.
As Cosby celebrates his 75th birthday Thursday, we’ve rounded up a few of his more memorable quotations to spotlight his evolution from America’s quintessential family man to controversial,...

Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney Xd is a fun and entertaining series, and one of my favorite current animated shows. The voice cast is a mix of people from the Marvel movies and some very notable voice actors, and the creative team is full of big names from Marvel Comics. And according to this press release, there are some big things in store for young Mr. Parker in Season 2:

We've been hearing rumors for awhile that Marvel would be cancelling their awesome animated series Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Today that rumor has been confirmed; the series is gone. It's a shame that this only got two seasons, as it was one of the best animated series on TV. The news was confirmed in a press release by Marvel that also revealed the show would be replaced by another Avengers series called Marvel's Avengers Assemble.
The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes won’t be renewed for the 3rd Season. Marvel Animation will present their newly developed series Marvel’s Avengers Assemble in 2013.
The image above was released to promote the new series, which looks like it's going to fall more in line with Joss Whedon's Avengers film. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more Marvel characters introduced in the series though. We should get some more details at this year's Comic-Con.

Everett Noah Wyle stars in “Falling Skies”
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 17 years since a baby-faced Noah Wyle made a strong first impression with television audiences on “E.R.” as newbie med student, John Carter. In the interim, the actor has starred in TNT’s successful “The Librarian” action-adventure TV movie trilogy, but it took Steven Spielberg to lure Wyle back to series television with the post alien invasion drama, “Falling Skies,” which premieres tonight on TNT.

3.8 million get 'Nip/Tuck' fix
The second-season premiere of FX series Nip/Tuck was its most-watched episode yet, reaching 3.8 million total viewers on Tuesday. While just slightly above the viewership for the series premiere last year, Nip/Tuck looked especially strong among viewers 18-49, topping the first episode by 35% and beating out all basic-cable programming for the night. The plastic-surgery drama also encored strong at 11 p.m., bringing FX a gross total of 5.7 million. The 10 p.m. episode was presented commercial-free by XM Satellite Radio. Not as hot was the premiere of TBS series Outback Jack at 9 p.m., drawing a respectable 2.1 million. Jack built on the same time slot last year by 33%. Nick at Nite got more good news from animated series Fatherhood, which built on its Sunday sneak peek by 59% for a total of 2.9 million. Fatherhood was also sharply up in 18-49.
