Oracle, Ariz. - Music of the Sphere: I Leap through the Sky with Stars will combine the beauty of the universe with the beauty of musical performance in a way not often seen in southern Arizona, in the one-of-a-kind setting of Biosphere 2.
Pianist Ji-Young Kim joins UA Professor Emeritus Richard Powell in the opening presentation, "I Leap through the Sky with Stars: Looking Beyond the Sky. " Powell, former vice president for research at the UA and an avid amateur astronomer who has displayed his photographs at many venues throughout the United States, will present his extraordinary imagery of the night sky and an overview of the world above us. Kim will accompany Powell's presentation with Music by Alexina Louie.

Demian Bichir, Tony Hale join series
Mexican actor Demian Bichir has joined the cast of Showtime's Weeds.
Meanwhile, Arrested Development alum Tony Hale has landed recurring roles on two sophomore series, NBC's Chuck and ABC's Samantha Who?
In a nine-episode arc on the upcoming fourth season of Weeds, Bichir will play Esteban, the mayor of Tijuana.
Bichir, who has won a best actor Ariel Award (Mexico's version of the Oscars), next appears in Steven Soderbergh's Che (in which he plays Fidel Castro) as well as Fuera Del Cielo and Enemigos Intimos. He is repped by UTA and manager Sekka Scher.
On Chuck, Hale will play Emmett, the new assistant manager of the Buy More Store where Chuck (Zachary Levi) works. An efficiency expert, he is sent in by Buy More corporate and decides to stay on when he realizes how poorly run the store is.
On Samantha, Hale will play Andy Adams, Samantha's (Christine Applegate) new doctor.
Hale is repped by Gersh and Framework.

The urban crime drama marks the second Spanish-language feature the company has acquired under its agreement with Panamax Films. San Seb fest sets awards to finish films
MADRID -- The Films in Progress section of the 52nd San Sebastian International Film Festival, a program devoted to awarding completion funds to new projects, has selected seven films from South America and Spain to vie for postproduction incentives, organizers said Thursday. The titles in the sidebar, set to run Sept. 21-22, include Alvaro Buela's Alma Mater (Uruguay); Marcelo Gomes' Cinema, Aspirina e Urubus (Brazil); Tristan Bauer's Iluminados por el Fuego (Argentina); Javier Fox Patron's El Marlboro y el Cucu (Mexico); Edgardo Cozarinsky's Ronda Nocturna (Argentina); Sebastian Campos' La Sagrada Familia (Chile); and Ruy Guerra's O Veneno da Madrugada (Brazil).
