Lord Help Us (2007)

Trivia

Lord Help Us

Edit
The movie was shot in only 16 days.
Director/Writer/Producer/Editor Shavar Ross secured a home video (DVD) and cable/broadcast television rights deal for the project before a script was ever written. Barry Gordon, Vice-President of Acquisitions at Image Entertainment was so impressed with Shavar's 35 minute short film entitled, "A Taste of Us", that a full length feature film was requested. The only thing was, Shavar's short was originally a drama pilot presentation for the new TV ONE Network and was based on the civil unrest of the 1960's. Shavar simply kept the title "A Taste of Us" to appease his distributor and came up with a whole new concept, and storyline, conforming a script into an inspirational romantic comedy.
Singer Al Jarreau's first role in a feature film.
Director/Writer/Editor Shavar Ross and his wife Jacqueline used their own funds to make the movie.
From early talks with the film's distributor, to final delivery of the project, the process took 3 years.
