According to co-creator Tim Minear, FOX didn't aired the episodes as they were conceived, but out of order. The correct viewing order is:

2. Everything Nice
3. Old Wounds
4. Pre-Filer
5. Loneliest Number
6. Point of Origin
7. Thief of Hearts
8. Declawed
9. Aidan
10. Little Girl Lost
11. The Perfect Couple
12. Gem
13. Skin and Bone.
Originally conceived (by Todd Kessler and Glenn Kessler) as an FBI show with a 21 Jump Street touch, a pilot was shot (starring 'Rachel Nichols', Peter Facinelli and Willa Holland which execs didn't approve. The show was then given to Tim Minear who completely retooled it.
