A Family Affair’s ending was meant to be a happy one, and why won’t it be? Who in their right mind can handle a climax with such beautiful people leaving us with sad faces? Thankfully, Richard Lagravenese’s Netflix film has a fairytale ending where the boy gets the girl eventually and expresses his feelings without being too cringy. But, you see, the concluding conversation between the two lovebirds, Brooke Harwood (Nicole Kidman) and Chris Cole (Zac Efron), isn’t as simple as it seems. It has a lot of references and a deeper meaning attached to it, which, in a way, define their characters and also hint at their future.
While trying to propose to Brooke in the shopping mall, Chris said he didn’t want to be an “island for one” anymore. It was a reference to Chris’ narcissistic life, in which he never wanted anyone...

NBC has found the male lead for its J.J. Abrams pilot "Undercovers" in the form of former "Soul Food" star Boris Kodjoe.
Kodjoe, who starred in the Bruce Willis movie "Surrogates" earlier this year, will play one half of a married couple who work together as spies, according to The Hollywood Reporter. If the show gets picked up, he would become one of only a handful of African-American actors with a lead role on a network series.
The "Undercovers" cast also includes Gerald McRaney, who was cast earlier in the week as the couple's supervisor at the CIA.
Kodjoe played Damon Carter on Showtime's "Soul Food" and also starred in the Upn series "Second Time Around" (with his real-life wife, Nicole Ari Parker). His credits also include "Madea's Family Reunion," "Love & Basketball" and the upcoming "Resident Evil: Afterlife."
Abrams co-wrote "Undercovers" with Josh Reims and may direct the pilot.

MyNetworkTV's high on 'Roof'
MyNetworkTV is returning to the scripted arena.
The network has ordered 13 episodes of Under One Roof, a new half-hour comedy series starring Flavor Flav from executive producers Claude Brooks (Second Time Around) and Darryl J. Quarles (Big Momma's House).
Flav plays Calvester Hill, a former convict who moves in with his wealthy, conservative brother, Walter (Kelly Perine). Calvester turns the Hill family's life upside down, parading his old prison cronies through the house, teaching his nephew to be a gangsta rapper and butting heads with Walter's snooty wife.
Roof is directed by Brian Roberts and written by Danielle Quarles and Gelila Asres. Brooks' C to the B Prods. and Quarles' Qtopia Entertainment are producing.
"A classic fish-out-of-water story, 'Under One Roof' will be a hilarious addition to the MyNetworkTV lineup," network president Greg Meidel said.
Roof, which has been written by non-WGA writers, is in production in Toronto for a spring debut.
MyNetworkTV launched in September 2006 with a lineup comprising solely scripted drama strips but abandoned that format last year in favor of reality shows and theatrical acquisitions.
