Paul Thomas made a career as a director who proved that quality story telling (and acting and directing) were possible in Adult Cinema. But in this awful video hiding behind one of his many alt-names "Bo Edwards" he mocks that concept and merely adds fuel to the fire that has since resulted in his retirement and the utter domination of all-sex and gonzo in the field he once called home.
So we have Evan Stone hamming unmercifully in a dual role as a porn screenwriter and his ne'er-do-well twin brother. Or merely a split personality, as hinted at strongly in a mirror-scene late in the show.
Brah Bones aka Marc the Saint, instantly recognizable from his endless BTS appearances over the years, plays PT namely Paul Thomas, a porn director who has a set available and wants Stone to write a script so he can shoot a porn movie quickly. That's exactly what "Bo Edwards" = the real PT is up to for Vivid. Name-dropping AVN is all part of the incestuous and corrupt package being mocked or rather exploited here -it all amounts to the same thing.
When writer Stone makes fun of stupid porno plots involving pizza girls and the like it doesn't take a genius out there in Video Land to guess that we're going to get the same crap here, and sure enough the Vivid contract girl starring here, untalented Tawny Roberts, shows up later at Stone's house delivering pizza.
Ostensible plot about various would-be colorful characters is all nonsense, and the pro actors on the payroll like Katsumi and Alec Metro treat their roles with suitable contempt. Direction is sloppy and it all amounts to a talented auteur handing in slop virtually identical to the gonzo crap he rails stoagainst. And any arm's length viewer not into the industry in-joke will simply conclude that the gonzo brigade is correct -what's the point of trying to be creative when this sort of sludge is representing the storytelling/narrative camp?
