Masato Kato, one of the writers for Baten Kaitos, was also the writer for the well-known Square RPG Chrono Trigger and its sequel, Chrono Cross.
One of the end of dungeon bosses in Baten Kaitos is called the Gnosis, which also features in the video game Xenosaga Episode 1: Chikara he no ishi (2002) (VG) as the invading alien force. Both games are developed and published by the same companies.
