The movie rights went from Warner Bros (2007) to Columbia Pictures (2009), to Netflix (2022), and currently to Amazon MGM Studios.
Noah Centineo had signed on for the role of Adam/He-Man in 2019, but dropped out in 2021. In 2022 Kyle Allen signed on in 2022, but the project got shelved.
In 2007, the film was to be called "Grayskull": Joel Silver was going to produce and Justin Marks was to write the script, and it was to be shot in a style similar to 300 (2006).
