“It feels like the end of an era, to be honest,” he says, adding that Season 4 “goes to a place where it will be pretty hard to follow on immediately.”

PBS Slammed for Airing Fake Fireworks Display on 4th of July
A Capitol Fourth (2004)
PBS is “proud” of its annual “A Capitol Fourth” broadcast despite viewer criticism for airing old fireworks footage from previous 4th of July celebrations, instead of airing them live, as the program claimed. “We are very proud of the 2016 ‘A Capitol Fourth’ celebration,” PBS said in a statement. “Because this year’s fireworks were difficult to see due to the weather, we made the decision to intercut fireworks footage from previous ‘A Capitol Fourth’ concerts for the best possible television viewing experience. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.” The misty and cloudy weather in Washington D.C.

PBS Caught Using Old Footage in ''Live'' Broadcast of Washington, D.C. Fireworks
A Capitol Fourth (2004)
PBS was forced to apologize for a snafu with their popular "A Capitol Fourth" broadcast of the "live" fireworks in Washington, D.C. on Monday. People noticed the footage that was aired during the broadcast differed from the actual weather in the Capitol on the holiday, showing clear skies when it was actually quite foggy and misty. Not to mention, the broadcast also showed the Capitol—which is currently under construction—without the scaffolding that is currently set up. As you can imagine, many people took to Twitter to point out the noticeable differences, criticizing PBS for using old footage and claiming it was live. After much commotion, PBS—which has...

Neil Diamond
Neil Diamond's Tribute To Boston
Neil Diamond
Nashville, Tenn. — Neil Diamond visited Boston in the days following the marathon bombings and left convinced he should do something to help.

"I was moved by the unity and the attitude of the people in Boston," Diamond said. "And that's really all a songwriter needs, is to be inspired. It doesn't happen very often but when it does you have to follow that muse and I did."

The result is "The Freedom Song (They'll Never Take Us Down)," a new patriotically themed song Diamond will release through iTunes and Amazon on July 2. All proceeds from the song will go to benefit the Boston One Fund and The Wounded Warriors Project.

Diamond watched coverage of the April 15 bombings unfold from afar, then visited the city the following Saturday. The Red Sox, the city's Major League Baseball franchise, adopted the 72-year-old singer's hit "Sweet Caroline" as an eighth-inning anthem some time ago...

Downton Abbey Season-Three Premiere Is the Show’s Most-Watched Episode Ever
Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Penelope Wilton, Allen Leech, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Lily James, Fifi Hart, and Oliver Barker in Downton Abbey (2010)
Downton Abbey just keeps getting bigger. The third season premiere of the British import drew 7.9 million viewers from 9 to 11 p.m. Sunday, the largest tune-in yet for the PBS-broadcast period drama. The show's audience nearly doubled over last winter's season premiere and was up sharply from its Feburary 2012 finale (5.4 million). What's more, at least in total viewers, PBS beat every broadcast network save for CBS between nine and eleven last night. Interestingly, one of the U.S. cities furthest from the U.K. — Seattle — gave Downton its biggest ratings Sunday. Boston, Austin, and New York were also among the top five biggest markets for the show. As big as Downton is, a bit of perspective: Its ratings are still below those for many of Ken Burns's documentaries and only about 25 percent above the tune-in for this summer's PBS broadcast of A Capitol Fourth (6.3 million).

'Smash's' Megan Hilty 'just really sad' about Season 2 cast cuts
Megan Hilty
Megan Hilty is ready to have a "Smash"-ing summer that will involve more than her series.

The Broadway veteran ("Wicked," "9 to 5: The Musical") will be in Washington, D.C., to open the show with a patriotic medley on PBS' annual holiday special "A Capitol Fourth" Wednesday, July 4. Right afterward, she goes into production on the sophomore round of NBC's musical drama "Smash," to begin airing at midseason.

"People have no problem stopping me anywhere and telling me exactly what they think about the show and my character," the friendly Hilty tells Zap2it with a big, knowing laugh. "And that's great. It means they're invested in the show and the relationships, and I love it."

They're also curious what will happen to Hilty's devious character Ivy, who evidently has lost the lead in the "Smash" show-within-the-show, the Marilyn Monroe musical "Bombshell." Having not seen new-season scripts yet, Hilty...

'Dancing With the Stars' Tom Bergeron: Richard Dawson 'definitely put his mark' on 'Family Feud'
Tom Bergeron never met Richard Dawson, but the late "Family Feud" host had an impact there anyway.

'The Glee Project': Matthew Morrison changes his tune
"Glee" star Matthew Morrison admits he "wasn't a big fan at the beginning" of the idea that has become "The Glee Project."

The Oxygen competition, which will give its winner a role in the upcoming third season of the parent Fox series, premieres Sunday (June 12). NBC would air the annual "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" at 8/7c, featuring performances by Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias and LeAnn Rimes among others. CBS meanwhile takes over the 9/8c slot with "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular".

Meanwhile, favorite shows like "Ugly Betty", "Criminal Minds", "Leverage" and "Made" will be presented in a marathon from 10 A.M. onwards. The marathon continues Monday, July 5 with "Mad Men", "House M.D.", "Law & Order" and "Cake Boss...
